Students are able to use their mathematical thinking to create a geometric piece of art. The main goals of this project are to strengthen students' ability to explain their mathematical thinking, to practice math concepts they had learned so far, and to gain exposure to a new art form.

Jarvis Albert Huck's insight:
The activity gives students the opportunity to use geometry and teamwork to build the school of the future. Student teams must construct a design for a new school while stying within the specfic budget. The teams will present their design to artchitects and builders. The activity is a great way to use many of the topics covered in a high school geometry class.
