There are extremely large socioeconmic differences between people in Australia and much of it is evident in the areas where they live. People living in certain suburbs can not afford the current costs of living, while others have plenty despite promises that taxes would even this out.

NSW's waste management scheme is lacking as pollution is caused by waste. Despite the fact that people are recycling more than ever, build-ups of waste are letting off pollution.

The Victorian coast is very well taken care of, however the government wants to change their coastal care plan. 90% of Australians who live near the coast will be affected as currently successful plans are being changed by the government.

Too often, we become so consumed by what presents to be the problem that we overlook what might be an obvious solution.
Natasha Novo's insight:

As Australian suburbs grow, services need to expand along with them in order to accomodate the people living there. Australia's population is expanding and so more people need places to live. This means that suburbs are being built further and further from city centres for people to live and business to follow.

The government wants to use land management to help deal with pollution and climate change. It is believed that if certain areas of rural Australia are used more effectively for agricultural purposes then carbon emissions will be reduced.

Pollution in Australia is having effects on children in particular and so there are doubts regarding the standard of air quality. It is only occurring in certain areas of Australia where pollution is highest and it is negatively affecting people's health.
