overview of General George Patton's effect on the United States

george patton became a general in world war 2. Patton's knowledge in tank command helped german counteroffensive in the ardennes in the battle of the buldge. Under his command the Third Army swept into Germany and into Czechoslovakia. In April 1945, Patton was promoted to temporary four-star general but was removed by Eisenhower from his leadership of the Third Army for making inflammatory remarks concerning the denazification policies. Without George Patton we would not have known as much as we know now about tank warfare.

 General George S. Patton"I drove to the Rhine River and went across on the pontoon bridge. I stopped in the middle to take a piss and then picked up some dirt on the far side in emulation of William the Conqueror."

In 1943 patton  used his daring assult and denfense tactics to lead the 7th U.S army to victory at the invasion of sicily. He still remains one of the most complicated military men of all time.
