Essay: Women of India: The Mixed Truth by Amartya Sen, Nobel Prize Winner in Economics | Gender Inequality | Scoop.it
Public anger at gender inequality in India must be seen as an important—and long-overdue—social development, and it can certainly help in remedying the persistent inequalities from which Indian women suffer.

Elbert Turner's insight:

This article is related to Half The Sky because these two ladies were in about the same situation, in this article a lady in india got ganged raped by these men that just got done doing drugs and almost died. In Half The Sky a lady named saima was beaten by her deadbeat husband and by her brother-in-law.

This story touches mme because im grateful that these things happened to my or my sisters and i dont want it to happen so it is a wake up call for me, to see what is happening in other besides the United States.

I think this is a good source because the rates in india for missing and killed women are high and this source is realting on that.

Gender Inequality plays a big role in India and other countries like India. Gender inequality is unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on gender. Bride burnings, kidnapping, and brothels serve as punishment for " unworthy women". These women live under harsh conditions because some dont have enough money to afford comfortable lives for their family. Their husbands beat them up and constantly degrade them and make derogatory comments toward them.
