I selected this article because I find it interesting that Uganda, an LDC in Africa is among one of the 126 countries to possibly reach Gender equality in schools by 2015.  This is good because that means there will be more girls educated, and the improvement of gender equality in other facets of the country and others around it may follow suit soon.

I chose this topic because it is about how women in Cuba aren't treated as equal to men. It relates to "Half the Sky: because in the excerpt, women were being abused, uneducated and couldn't get jobs. In Cuba, even if the women are educated and have good jobs, they are still not paid a well as the men and are more stressed because they are the main one who takes care of the family.
