Google's plot to take over your digital life

Google's plot to take over your digital life | Gear, Gadgets & Gizmos | Scoop.it
Google's purchase of Netst is just the latest step in its plot to take over your digital life.
Harold Thwaites's insight:

Is GOOGLE Big Brother? Is there a digital life take over "plot"? That will really be up to the consumer and how much "permission" you give the Big G to come into your home, your life and your privacy. PRIVACY is the big TRUST issue when it comes to any company having so much access to so much information... and the information about information. When the Internet of THINGS..... really kicks in then it may be out of our control. Things will "talk" to things and to the Big G, if they are conneted. It is already happening and from the looks of this Nest purchase, it will begin expand even faster. All that to say.... consumer beware, and adjust your privacy settings !  For a fairly up to date list of what Google "owns": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Google_products

If you are looking for a live-streaming camcorder capable of shooting full 360° HD video that has an affordable price, the 360cam from Giroptic, being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, has everything you need (including the certainty that you will get one, as the project has reached its planned budget multiple times over).

The camcorder, which is very portable and easy to use, uses three ultra-sharp fish-eye lenses which are all synchronized to simultaneously capture and stitch images in real time.

The camcorder is also equipped with:

  • GPS antenna for image geotagging
  • 3 microphones
  • micro-USB
  • gyroscope for image stabilization
  • rechargeable battery
  • micro-SD card slot (up to 64GB)

The 360cam can also capture photos at 4096x2048 pixel resolution in addition to video recording and live streaming at 25/30fps encoded via H264 and saved as a standard .mp4 file.

Starts at $249 - orderable now - available December 2014
