Long Story is an episodic dating/adventure game that will be debuting in Spring 2014. We’ll be releasing the game on iOS, Android, Mac and PC.


What’s the game about?


When the previous owner of Locker 1224 mysteriously disappeared, you were left holding the only clues. You play as a girl in her early teens and navigate the school’s social landscape through your decisions and conversations. IBM's Serious Game program wants to give enterprises a way to digest data by playing them out in real-world simulations, or video games.
callooh's insight:

It's starting to make me a bit crazy that people are equating serious games with gamification but this discussion of the need for games (not gamification) to develop critical thinking skills is interesting. The Bogost cite is not properly applied in this case since he is referring to misguided gamification attempts NOT the kind of work IBM is doing. 


Not hating on gamification generally, when done well, it's a useful tool....just saying...let's not mix metaphors :).
