Christian Murray's curator insight, March 16, 7:38 AM

As news reports cry out that we must turn off our TV and take our children  for walks there seems to be some sort of conflict  with VR and cutting the technological umbilical cord we are tied to. As you may or not know i gave over  20 years of my life to VR and  360 video development  as i stand a bit back i see where  we  create a conflict  against natural state of mind. Do not get me wrong i think that if you could  virtually witness your child being born as you were not close by that is pretty cool, but what does VR  do for  people that are homeless, cloth less  and starving? Maybe it offers  the 1%  a remote observation to better assign resources? maybe but i doubt it. Its pretty clear that immersive media is being geared as  money maker not a  public resource. Now that is fair enough too, everyone has to make a buck,  but i would like to see someone  pick up my VR PORTAL plan and  make something useful and cheap for the world.
