A company making tissue for drug tests using three-dimensional printers is teaming up with Autodesk to learn ways that industrial 3-D printing of inanimate objects can be adapted to make living things.

The people at Organovo Holdings have teamed up with autodesk to design bioprinting machine. This machines main idea and fuction is to have the capability to print living tissues and hopefully move on to a more complex task such as organs. Although presentlyhe people at Orgnovo are able to create a slice of tissue, they require alot more hard work to reach their goal of being able to create a whole liver.Being able to recreate human body parts with the aid of 3d printing may not be so far off into the future. This would be music to the ears of people who have lost limbs or have been critically damaged in someway. This could also mean that we are able to sustain a elderly persons vital organs for longer period of time.

Researchers have constructed a living human ear that looks and feels just like the real thing, and they made it with the help of a 3D printer.

This article written by Peter Murray discusses how scientis were able to create a replica human ear that looks and feels like the real one. The scientist were successful with the aid of a 3D printer. The print was specially designed to enable this to work. The ear was created by injecting 250 million cartilage cells and a gel collect from animals into the 3D printer. It took just fifteen minutes to make the replica ear on the printer. Now imagine what other things scientist can be able to print using a 3D printer. The researchers still continue to expand the capabilities of the 3D printer. I believe the 3D printer will play a key role in medical practices and empower disabled people with hope of being normal again.

Although the article doesn't inform us of what is next for the 3D printer, it does a good job of giving a brief overview of what the printer is able to do currently. This is a good article to relate to when discussing the experiments being done with this kind of technology in labs.

 In this article Christopher Barnatt, reviewed the function of bioprinting in respect to explaining what future technological advances are to come. He explaines that using 3D printers, they are able to develope the bioprinter, Although these are only experimental they function by recreating living tissues by adding layer upon layer of living cells to create human body parts. Their research focuses on technologically developing this machine in order for it to be a successful break through in the future. This article is useful to my research as it takes an ndepth look at the potential technological advances being developed currently to reshape the future.The authors indicate that further, more extensive, research needs to be undertaken to develop a more in-depth understanding of human tissues and organs can be recreated. This article will  form one of the arguments oof my research and also it will be useful supplementary information for topic on 3D Printing.

The concept of 4D printers is not far from 3D printers. This articles disucsses what could be the predecessor of the 3D printer. The underlying concept is that you print an object that not only is 3D but is capable of transforming into something different. MIT are still doing research into widening the possiblities of this technology. The article implies that with much more research the concept of 4D printers will be a reality in the future.

They predicts intend to inform us why 3D printing is on the verge of reforming manufacturing. This predictions also open  doors to other possiblities in the future. The cars we drive in the future may even be printed with the aid of a 3D printer.Both the authors see a future where everything has shiftered from manufacturing to printing. Al though the content of the article gives concise predictions, its limitation is that it does not explore further into the future applications of 3D printing.

Lee Cronin came up with this briliant idea of being able to print medicine using a 3d printer. Sounds amazing and there's a posibilty that this could acually functioning in the future. With the rapid technological advances, I belive Mr. Cronin's theory could be successful. In order for this to work it will require hardware, software and chemical inks. This universal set of chemical inks embedded into the printer will have the capability to download the blue print of an organic chemistty for that molecule and create it.These are the baby steps towards being able to create molecules through software. This would mean that chemisty will now function as an app, chemists' would be. With this in mind we could download a diagnostic that could prevent new species of bateria or whatever the issue may be.One cool aspect of this could be personalising medicine to suit individual needs through taking your own stem cells plus genes and embedding it into the 3D printer. With critical thinking such as of Mr. Cronin, the future seems limitless.

In this article Business Insider's Patrick Chui interview Jochen Rode,a digital manufacturer in Germany. They discuss the implications of 3D printing and where this technology could take course in the future. The interview circulates around what Mr. Rode has be working to develop. So ordinary will want something that has been printed through a 3D printer. As the more into the future the technology also advances, that why i'm confident that the 3D printer will impact the way the next generation are brought up. One interesting topic that arose from the interview is the potential of people using 3D printers for corrupt purposes such as replicating guns and so on. It doe not matter at this time since this technology is still being developed however there are high dangers it poses in the future if given to the wrong people. This article poses an interesting aspect of 3D printer which will be of help to support my research on 3D printers in the future.

In this article Industrial designer Joshua Harris proposes his concept of using a 3D printer to print the clothes we wear,The author focuses intends to sharpen the idea of 3D printing and applies it to his concept of manufacturing clothes within the comfort of your home. In order for a piece of clothing to be produced, the design of the clothing must be downloaded into the machine followed by cartridges of specially designed threads. The main concept of creating a piece of clothing is still being worked upon with a high potential of productivity in future years. The main limitation of the article is that is did not take an indepth look at this theory however it goes a reasonable good of giving a breif scoop so we understand the concept. This article will not form the basis of my research; however it will be useful supplementary information for my research other influences 3D printing will portray.

In this youtube video, In Edinburgh, Scotland Heriot-Watt University scientis are developing the future of 3D printers. They're developing a 3D printing technology that is capable of creating human embrotic stem cells. With the aid of this technological breakthrough some medical condition will be able to be preventable plus it could spark other advances inovations to be invented. This scientic development is still in its trial and error transition, Although this video may not be used in my assignment part b, it will be used to support my research on future purposes of 3D printers.

He offers information from a wide range of reliable sources and communicates them effectively. He dissuces the details of 3D printers and the current prototyping being experimented with it. The author is a futurist with a realistic mind set that one day we all may be able to own a 3D printer in our households. In saying that i think future applications of 3D printing will completly revolutionise our lives. With the rapid change in the technology trend the future is wide open to many opportunities for the 3D printer.
