Pour retourner vivre leur vie et faire des choses plus intéressantes qu’acheter des billets de train. Plus les gens se barrent vite, et plus nous sommes contents ...

Un court et récent billet de Tristan Nitot intitulé Serve your users well : be a non-profit a récemment retenu mon attention. L’auteur, Paul Graham (qui n’est pas un inconnu sur le Framablog), constate, avec une sorte de fausse candeur, que faire le bien comme pourrait le faire une association à but non lucratif apporte de nombreux avantages à une startup, comme par exemple celui de devenir à terme rentable.

I love what motivates them.  They’re truly dedicated to developing young people. But I’ve also spoken to hundreds of students groping for next steps.  And I have to say that, at this point, it’s clear that entrepreneurship education, as it’s currently practiced, does not work.

A l’ère du numérique, l’enjeu pour les entreprises n’est plus de gérer la résilience, d’adapter leur modèle d’affaires, ni même de mener un “plan de transformation” de leur organisation. Les entreprises en place, confrontées aux entreprises numériques dans le partage de la valeur, doivent innover en rupture, c’est-à-dire se redéployer en créant de nouveaux modèles d’affaires pour préempter les positions dominantes de demain.


Le problème, pour ces entreprises, est qu’elles continuent d’adopter des stratégies et des méthodes qui appartiennent à une époque révolue et n’ont pas intégré une structure ou un état d’esprit qui leur permettent d’innover radicalement. Etudions ici les 5 raisons principales pour lesquelles les entreprises aujourd’hui ne peuvent pas innover en rupture.


1. Une entreprise a pour vocation d’executer un modèle économique connu et non à rechercher un modèle économique nouveau

2. Une entreprise s’attache à vendre un produit existant et non à résoudre un problème constaté sur le marché

3. L’échec en entreprise est vu et ressenti comme un fardeau et non comme un processus itératif d’apprentissage

4. Le processus de décision en entreprise est long et complexe et non agile et radical

5. Une entreprise privilégie les qualités managériales plutôt que les qualités entrepreneuriales

1. Because nobody cares.
2. Because an idea is 1% and execution is 99%.
3. Because the same idea executed by different people will lead to totally different products/businesses.
4. Because there are no revolutionary ideas anymore.
5. Because the most successful businesses are basic ideas perfectly executed.
6. Because if you think Uber and Airbnb were first of their kind, you’re wrong. Thousands have failed with the exact same idea.
7. Because you need to focus on what really matters and work without restrictions.
8. Because you don’t have the answers, your market does. Talk out loud, go out there, become an expert, speak, network, and collect feedback.
9. Because you don’t want to tune yourself to this level of thinking, and have better things to focus on.
10. Because people you’ll interact with will never sign your shitty NDA to know more about your idea they don’t give a sh*t about in the first place.
