Anne Caspari's curator insight, May 15, 2013 2:45 PM

This is where I want to return to the idea that what we face is a design problem, where answers exist not at an unattainable theoretical level but on the floors of our factories, in the streets of our towns and cities, the classes of our schools, the waiting rooms of our hospitals. These answers will manifest themselves as true acts of creation, originating new ways of getting stuff done, informed by the decisions we collectively take. So in re-designing the world, we need human creativity in the sense of the capacity to ‘make’, we need visionary leadership in the sense of making a difference. And we seek the craftsman’s critical eye, steady hand and creative mind. It is this process of seeing – realising new pathways to success, by bringing two ‘unlikes’ (new information, tools, processes etc.) together in close adjacency – that we create, and make new things. Then we can meaningfully apply that capability.

Course: Transformation Intensive near Berlin, June, 2014

Course: Transformation Intensive near Berlin, June, 2014 | Futurable Planet: Answers from a Shifted Paradigm. | Scoop.it

June 21 to 29, 2014: Transformation Intensive is a full immersion 9 days residential course on personal transformation and insight.

The rewards of taking the full Transformation Intensive are new perspectives and realizations about your hidden assumptions and thought patterns that you had no idea were “running you”.  These insights are very liberating and provide the necessary basis to regain personal power. Now, it will be much easier learning and applying the skills to dissolve these limitations, recurring patterns, these inner conflicts and incoherence for good.  Once you see the real source of what has been preventing change, the approach guides you on a new path to accomplish it in day to day life.  The insights of this course can be directly applied to personal, professional, and collective challenges.

It speaks to your own level of expertise and happens in a safe and light environment. Transformation Intensive will be thoroughly experiential. It uses methods and materials that can be seen through the lenses of Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory, Otto Scharmer’s U-Theory or Robert Kegan’s Immunity to Change work. They can also be cross-referenced with other more intuitive transformative processes, tools and methods.

Anne Caspari's insight:

... the course is an excellent training ground for professionals, coaches, facilitators, change agents, integral thinkers, leaders interested to go deeper in their own development and enhance their capacity and skill set.

The Future of Leadership for Conscious Capitalism | MetaIntegral Associates

The Future of Leadership for Conscious Capitalism | MetaIntegral Associates | Futurable Planet: Answers from a Shifted Paradigm. | Scoop.it

This white paper first discusses the new science of vertical learning and its central role in scaling and embedding Conscious Capitalism. Harvard’s Robert Kegan contends that vertical learning catalyzes a quantum increase in mental complexity. This radically improves a leader’s ability to navigate today’s highly complex, ambiguous, and rapidly changing context, and cascade those new skills into the entire organization.

Vertical learning has proven to unlock powerful yet latent mental, emotional, and relational capacities that make leaders more effective across a variety of mission-critical domains. These include improved strategic and systemic thinking, change leadership, stakeholder relationship development, and conflict management.

Explore the Power of Collective Insight

Explore the Power of Collective Insight | Futurable Planet: Answers from a Shifted Paradigm. | Scoop.it
A collaborative exploration on the power of collective insight.
Anne Caspari's insight:

When I heard Bonnitta Roy talk at ITC this year, I was kind of shocked. Took me a while to figure out why. Several things hit me deeply: what she was coming up with something elegantly complex, liberating, deep, practical, and possibly the next quantum leap for the whole integral scene. She pointed out a new potential trajectory for the collective. I was afraid that in all its elegance and brilliance it would go unobserved by the scholars/practioners since they are kind of used to that from Bonnie. Since this was far too important to let it slip, I am extremely glad and grateful she stepped on it and created this symposion and campaign. Please consider seriously supporting this, as I will.

JR: How about how to spot and navigate blind spots?

HV: The best thing for blind spots is consciousness. CLA – causal layer analysis. A new tool by Sohail Inayatullah, came out of Richard Slaughter’s Integral stuff. (There is Integral Future’s work). Spiral dynamic also helps to avoid blind spots. Systems thinking and design is probably the best. Donella Meadows. System design and agent based modeling. Integral Without Borders | MindShift Integral

Integral Without Borders | MindShift Integral | Futurable Planet: Answers from a Shifted Paradigm. | Scoop.it

The topic of this call was diving deeper into  ”Working with Resistance in International Development.”  The call was facilitated by Gail Hochachka of Integral Without Borders. Ken Wilber and Anne Caspari discussed the deeper and finer issues  of Theory U and transformative processes, that Anne had mapped out in her earlier work (Diagrams – working with resistance). We discussed the different phenomena of restistance and adaptive pushback that are usually surfacing as recognizable patterns in these processes and their relationship to stages of development, states of consciousness and the shadow. Then we went also to explore the difference between individual and group processes,  a research on collective insighting with Bonnitta Roy and the Alderlore Insight Center, that Anne is also involved in.  Since all of the participants, including Ken was really interested in this research at this ‘fresh edge of discovery’, we will keep you posted on the outcomes of that.

IWB Sangha Call: Transformational Change in Development | Integral Without Borders

IWB Sangha Call: Transformational Change in Development | Integral Without Borders | Futurable Planet: Answers from a Shifted Paradigm. | Scoop.it

Our intention with these IWB sangha calls is to co-create t
he kind of 'integral community' we want, one that is deep and wise in its content, supportive in its interpersonal connections, and world-centric (even kosmo-centric!) in it's moral embrace. Each call will focus on an aspect of integral practice in development with certain practitioners leading on these topics and with participants contributing examples from their integral projects.

Anne Caspari's insight:

Concall tonight with the crew from Integral Without Borders - international development in practical application with lessons learned! We will discuss my little integral essays on the U-Process, and there might be the wonderful occasion to hear Ken Wilber's comments on the issue. Call in if you are interested in the topic!

Think/Feel Tank: In-sighting Emergent Capacities

Think/Feel Tank: In-sighting Emergent Capacities | Futurable Planet: Answers from a Shifted Paradigm. | Scoop.it

We are co-creating a collaborative symposion called “In-sighting Emergent Capacities” at Alderlore Insight Center, CT, in November 14 - 17, 2013, under the guidance of Bonnitta Roy.

Alderlore Insight Center invited people from diverse wisdom traditions who are driven by a strong desire to realize the next iterative and alternative steps in common reality going beyond the usual dialectics. The people participating in this symposium have been very careful to delineate specific approaches that steer clear of the conventional traps of collective practice. This symposium brings these traditions together for the first time to engage as peers – all on the same level to practice collective insight. We will be using shared capacities of intuiting and our understanding of systems design and meta-theory in order to identify principles underlying the in-sighting process and in order to liberate truly emergent and elegant solutions for complex adaptive challenges.

In our exploration we are looking to identify a rigorous set of principles for collective insight that is not values or world-view specific, but is methodological in scope and processural in practice. Then we have the possibility of bringing collective insight-training into a much larger context and have a powerful practice for addressing 21 Century problems.

Anne Caspari's insight:

Stay tuned here (www.alderlore.com)  if you want to learn more about the context and the process. Click here for even more information, if you want to benefit from the insights or if you simply would like to support our exploration – which we would be grateful for:  http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/explore-the-power-of-collective-insight

Otto Scharmer's Blog

Otto Scharmer's Blog | Futurable Planet: Answers from a Shifted Paradigm. | Scoop.it

1 The root cause of today’s global crises originates between our ears — in our outdated paradigms of economic thought

2 The blind spot of modern economic thought can be summarized with a single word: consciousness

3 The evolution of the economy and of modern economic thought mirrors the footprints of an evolving human consciousness

4 To paraphrase Einstein, the problem with today’s capitalism is that we are trying “to solve problems with the same consciousness that created them

5 ”Helping stakeholder systems shift their way of operating from ego-system to eco-system awareness is the central leadership challenge of our time

6 The shift from ego-system to eco-system awareness requires a journey that involves walking in the shoes of other stakeholders and attending to the three instruments of inner knowing: open mind, open heart, and open will

7 Addressing the current global crisis at its root calls for a 4.0 update of the economic operating system through reframing eight “acupuncture points” of the global economic system

8 Shifting the system to 4.0 requires a threefold revolution

9 We need new types of innovation infrastructures in order to build collective leadership capacities on a massive scale

10 The shift from an ego-system to an eco-system economy requires a global movement that needs to be supported by a new leadership school. That school should create collaborative platforms across sectors, systems, and generations and work through integrating science, art, and the practice of profound, awareness-based change

Anne Caspari's insight:

well worth studying.
