Robin Beecroft's curator insight, March 11, 2013 2:45 AM

TRAID will consider projects that combat the negative impacts of the textile supply and production chain on people and/or the environment. Projects can tackle issues relating to any of the stages in the chain, e.g., growing; harvesting; spinning/weaving/knitting; bleaching/dyeing/washing and treatment; cutting and sewing; recycling/disposal). TRAID seek to fund projects that (1) Reduce inequality, (2) Involve the local partner and beneficiaries in the project design, and include them in its implementation, monitoring and evaluation, (3) Build the capacity of the local organisation(s), and address the capacity of local stakeholders to advocate for their own rights where applicable, and (4) Protect and improve the environment or do it no harm.
