Bold statement? I don’t think so.

Ok, first off, I know that the Fuji X-Pro1 and the rest of the X-serie cameras don’t behave like a Nikon D4 with top of the line Nikkor lenses! How do I know? Because I shoot Nikon D4 with top of the line Nikkor lenses daily.

Meandering on the Moors

Meandering on the Moors | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
This photo set is all about the landscapes, captured on my Fujifilm X-T1 with my newly acquired 10-24mm. I hadn't realised how much I missed an ultra wide until I buckled and purchased this lens, and I'm so glad I did. The 14mm was sharp and beautiful, a prime to it's very soul, but the 10-24mm has a versatility that cannot be denied, and I really need that when I'm in the field. The weather was ideal, with the autumnal combination of mist and sunshine in the mornings at sunrise with the transitional colours of the moorland turning purple to orange.

Get Fujinon XF60mm to 1:1 magnification ratio | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
The Fujinon XF60mm macro lens has a magnification factor of 1:2. There are various other options like the pricey Zeiss 50mm macro, which is a true 1:1 autofocus lens or vintage manual lenses like Minolta 50mm or 100mm using a converter.

Fujifilm X100T Hands-on Review / DigitalRev TV Verified- YouTube

The X100T is the third iteration of the ever-popular X100 series of cameras from Fuji - an APS-C sensor compact camera with retro-chic looks - and the successor to the X100S. But what’s new and is this a worthy upgrade? The team went to the Occupy Central protests to test out the camera.

Fuji X100T, 3e du nom et définitivement mythique!

Fuji X100T, 3e du nom et définitivement mythique! | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Shooting Birds in Flight with the Fujifilm X-T1

Shooting Birds in Flight with the Fujifilm X-T1 | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
Recently I was out-of-town staying on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. I was out in the morning with my Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujinon XF55-200 lens but there wasn’t much happening as it was early. As a result I was walking back to the house when I heard some commotion on the beach. I had seen the flock of Canadian Geese and Seagulls on the beach but they were just resting, most of them on one leg. A few minutes later they began making noise. As I walked on the pier to overlook the beach I did three things. I enlarged my autofocus box two clicks as I was on the smallest size. I set the front dial to “C” as I was anticipating taking some pics of the geese taking off from the beach and flying over the pier. I also set my frames from “S” to “CH” as I wanted to get a nice series of pics as they flew over. There are a couple of lessons here.

A Touch Of Greyscale | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
As i mentioned in my last post, i shot some photos in RAW today.  I don’t do it very often because i really don’t like sitting down in front of the computer for that long.

However, with the X-Pro1, you don’t have to sit in front of the computer.  You can convert your RAW files in-camera.

Fujifilm X-T1 hands-on review | MAARTEN HEILBRON

Fujifilm X-T1 hands-on review | MAARTEN HEILBRON | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
Fuji loaned this to me for over a month, and I was able to take the camera to the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, where I played with time exposures, to the Grand Prix Cycliste in Montreal, where I played with burst mode and to an equestrian competition at Blue Star Farms in Mount Albert. Also spent some time wandering around Toronto.  I really felt like exploring and trying all the nuances of photography that manual control provides.

Fuji 18mm f/2.0 Lens

Fuji 18mm f/2.0 Lens | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
So why the Fuji 18mm lens? It’s extremely compact and a great walk around or travel lens for the Fuji X-T1. Although not as wide as the Fuji 2,8/14mm (which is also a fantastic lens but much more expensive) it is substantially smaller and lighter and with a maximum aperture of f/2.0 it is more practical in low light conditions. The lens is so small it barely takes up any room in my bag at all.

Thinking about the Fuji 27mm f/2.8 lens

Thinking about the Fuji 27mm f/2.8 lens | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
I’ve got an itch, and I’ve had it for a while now. In fact almost ever since I swapped over to the X-Pro1 from a full frame Canon 5D I’ve had that itch. When I swapped my kit over, I bought the X-Pro1 body along with a 35mm prime lens and 18-55mm zoom lens, which in its own right is very highly regarded. However, as someone who came from an all prime line up I still have a deep affection to prime lenses and this is the root cause of my itc

What happens when you team up the Fujifilm X-T1 with their 56mm f1.2 lens and hand it to a photographer who usually goes out of his way to avoid taking photographs of people?  Well, I found out when Gordon Laing of Cameralabs was kind enough to hand me the 56mm he had in his bag during the Donegal Photowalk held in the last weekend of September 2014.  We all had a great time hanging out and I also got some beautiful shots of my friends along the way.

In The Garden

In The Garden | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
... There is a lot of discussion on camera forums regarding the way the X Trans sensor renders leafs if the RAW images are processed in Lightroom or about that Fuji is cheating with the ISO values and that their ISO 4.000 is ISO 3.200 on other cameras. I would not say it is all rubbish but Lightroom has improved its RAW converter for Fuji files and even if Fuji cheats a little by overstating the ISO value it is still impressive and there is no APS-C sensor camera that I know that offers better high ISO performance than Fuji. And I’m not talking about noise only. The impressive thing is that the color saturation stays high at very high ISO settings....

September Ends ~ Fuji X-E1

September Ends ~ Fuji X-E1 | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

The Four Seasons Project begins to draw to a close, and with it September has its final flourish of colour.  I’ve noticed that this year the vast majority of the trees have a leaf blight that’s preventing the usual splendid golden hues from developing through into October.  Instead, the leaves are attacked by an ugly spore that is more prevalent this year than last.  I did find one small tree in Ruth’s garden that is largely unaffected and I took advantage of the morning sun to bring you the image above.

I developed the leaf shots extensively in Capture One Pro, using a heavy vignette, clarity and contrast to ‘paint’ the effect I wanted.  All in all, I was happy with the results.

With Fujifilm releasing three new X Series cameras; the X-T1 Graphite Silver, X100T and X30, I thought it would be a great opportunity to update the 'What X-Series Camera Should I Buy' article I wrote previously.

Hopefully in this guide I can offer some insight to your questions. I will also link to a few articles around the net to help offer some insight into these new cameras. I don't intend this guide to be a full spec write up, instead I would like to offer you a 'real world' user opinion

So, I went out with Tanya so she could shop for her family. I had my Harley Denim Jacket on cause Fall is here and I’m not falling for that Fall stuff. When you leave it’s nice and warm and when ya have to head back, well… it’s cool. I’m too old to Fall for that stuff I tell ya, I’m too smaat. Andre’ said he wanted to go along just to get out of the house and I quickly agree.

Ohhh sorry, Andre’ is my Fuji X100s. He said he was tired of being in the house cause I was taking Ding, the Nikon Coolpix A everywhere. So I put Andre’ in the Harley jacket inner pocket and he’s happy cause he’s riding a Harley.
