Fuji X-E2 - Amazing Quality!

Fuji X-E2 - Amazing Quality! | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

I have a X100s that I use for most of my walk around work, it is just so tiny and generates amazing images.  So when Fuji announced the X-E2 with the same sensor and with even more upgrades I ordered one from Amazon.  Much to my amazement it shipped a week later!  I have had it in hand now for about 2 weeks and just yesterday took it out to a local fishing port for a bit of creative work.  I love the upgrades and how fast this camera is.  It even passes the X100s in ability.  I originally purchased the X-E1 in order to take advantage of its electronic remote shutter release.  It enables me to hook it up to devices like a lightning trigger and my water drop collision system.  The X-E1 did a great job with these devices and I expect no less with the X-E2 but that is for another day.

This (even more) minimal combination was truly liberating. From this point of the holiday, I ditched the bag and used only the XT-1 and 27mm carried in hand or slipped into a coat pocket. I enjoyed the walks with my family more and still pulled in decent results. Here are a few pics from the latter part of the holiday taken with the X-T1 and 27mm:

Fujifilm XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR | Test

Fujifilm XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR | Test | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
Erreur.

Fujifilm X-series cameras get fast, premium 16mm lens option | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
Owners of Fujifilm’s interchangeable lens cameras (ILC) have a new glass option. The company announced a fast, 16mm prime lens for those who like shooting in low light or macro photography with nice bokeh. The Fujinon XF16mmF1.4 R WR goes on sale in May 2015, for $1,000. Fujifilm says the lens complements the X-T1 ILC, but can be used with any X-series ILC.

Spain 2015 ~ The recce with Mischkah Scott - ProPhotoNut | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
01. Blaise, my PA chose Mischkah for this assignment because of her Mediterranean looks and effortless beauty. She made a great choice. In the pictures above I shot into the light using my Fuji X-T1 and 56mm prime lens. I opened the lens right up and set my exposure with the shutter speed to make the shots sing. I wanted the white dress to be white. I’ve never been an advocate of expose to the left and I never use the highlight warning feature on my camera. There is something magical about the feed forward process of shooting by EVF or LCD on a Fuji. I can take risks without taking risks because I get exactly what I see.

Fujifilm sees competitive vigour from mirrorless cameras

“Cameras with fixed lenses have taken a hit because of the booming growth in mobile devices but the interchangeable lenses sector is seeing a growth,” said Yuta Kawamura, marketing manager of electronic imaging division at Fujifilm Middle East.

To get back into serious photography, he said that the company launched its X series and the recent X-T1 and fleshed out the system with 16 lenses so far to complement it.

Fujifilm’s X-T1 isn’t full frame – here’s why it doesn’t matter anymore

Fujifilm’s X-T1 isn’t full frame – here’s why it doesn’t matter anymore | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

Professional photographers use full-frame cameras while only amateurs use cropped sensors; thus Fujifilm’s X-T1 flagship is merely a spec on the lenses of real professional cameras – right? The argument of full sensors versus cropped sensors has been around since the first electronic image sensors began turning light into data. The notion that cropped sensors fall short of “full” performance is simply a crock.

The Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R lens may be one of the best portrait lenses I’ve ever used. It is lightweight, covers what I consider to be a nearly perfect focal length for portraiture (84mm effective focal length) and it’s very fast at f/1.2.

New from Fuji……. | Bill Fortney

New from Fuji……. | Bill Fortney | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
Probably no one, that is a Fuji fan or user,  is unaware of the newest lens to be released shortly.  The 16mm f 1.4 is yet another of Fuji’s stellar fast lenses.  Joining the 23mm f 1.4 (35mm equiv.), the 35mm f 1.4 (50mm equiv.) and the 56mm f 1.2 (85mm equiv.)  the 16 fills that critical 24mm equivalent spot with real speed!!!!  It is close to the same size and weight of the 23mm, which is to say, in the three bears story form;  “just right”.  The lens I got to shoot at the Fuji National Sales Meeting in Phoenix this week was a late prototype, very, very close to a production lens.

The building is the Joh Rylands Library which sits on one of Manchester’s main shopping streets.  It’s a real gem of a building that is open to the public and yet it is missed by so many visitors to the City.

Recently I was very lucky to spend 5 days cruising through the countryside of Victoria, Australia, soaking up amazing scenery that is unique to this part of the world, and experiencing some of the best light I've ever seen. There were many euphoric moments of awe and appreciation for my home country's beauty, beauty that I had never seen or made a strong enough effort to experience and appreciate properly beforehand.

If DSLR's are dying then mirrorless cameras will be right behind them. A discussion of the relative merits of hybrid cameras.

If DSLR's are dying then mirrorless cameras will be right behind them. A discussion of the relative merits of hybrid cameras. | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
There is this ludicrous point of view, not borne out by any evidence, that somehow DSLR's are old-fashioned, doomed and about to expire. They will be replaced in some land of photographic milk and honey by mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras and everybody will live happily ever after. Which is complete nonsense, because what will happen is if DSLR's disappear, then the cameras that seem desperate to emulate their looks and performance, but differ only in that the fake pentaprism on the top doesn't actually have a mirror in it, will follow suit.
hpc's insight:

Interesting point of view either if I do not agree.

X-Photographer's Spotlight - Nadine Ijewere | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
Being an analogue photographer ( medium format ), Fujifilm was the best in terms of reproducing the natural and more accurate colours that I am so accustomed to working with. It is that which helped shape my aesthetic within my work. Pro.Neg is my most used setting along with the new Classic Chrome simulation. That and the portability of the XT1 means it can go everywhere with me.

The Sony A7ii taught me to respect the Fujifilm X100s

The Sony A7ii taught me to respect the Fujifilm X100s | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
I basically took up photography as a way to get out of being in photographs. That, and I found it a good way to make friends after moving to Australia. It took me a while, but I eventually figured out that photographing people was something I really liked.

Starting out with a borrowed Canon 5dm2 and a 50/1.4, I learnt that taking good images is more than just having a good camera. You've got to know know you are doing, even if you've got your camera stuck in fully automatic mode. The first camera I purchased was a Canon 500D. On it was a Tamron 17-50/2.8. I really liked using the camera, but found that the setup really was too big and cumbersome for me to carry around much. (Most of the time, it ended up in my girlfriend’s bag.) It was also very conspicuous in both shape and size, making it awkward for taking photos of strangers.

X-T1 Electronic Shutter

X-T1 Electronic Shutter | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

'I've been using the Electronic Shutter (ES) extensively since moving to the X-T1 a few months ago. I was well aware with the issues with certain artificial light and moving subjects, so I only use it outdoors for static subjects (which is when it was always likely to be needed most anyway) and it’s been great being able to use the 56mm 1.2 wide open all the time.
