I'm not sure if I need the Fuji 55-200mm lens, obviously I'd love to have it, I just can't afford all the things I want. But I'll definitely get the new 56mm 1.2 lens once it comes out. Meanwhile we are all waiting for it there are plenty of old lenses with similar or longer focal lengths to play with. My choices of vintage glasses are the Helios 58mm f2.0 and the Tokina 135mm f2.8 M42 screw mount lenses.

Let’s get a few things out of the way :

I have said, in the past, that you should move toward full frame sensors. I have always championed full frame sensors. At the end of the day, full frame sensors beat APS sized and smaller sensors.

So why am I back pedaling now?

Time to Ditch Your DSLR for Fuji X-E1? / Photoshop Lightroom Bridge

Time to Ditch Your DSLR for Fuji X-E1? / Photoshop Lightroom Bridge | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Is it time to ditch your DSLR camera? Maybe. It depends on what you use your camera for.

In the last few years, a new camera system appeared – mirrorless cameras. I wrote about it recently, here’s the post if you haven’t read it:

Fuji Makes a Comeback with X-Series!

So what I want to focus on in this post are my views on one of Fuji mirrorless cameras – Fujifilm X-E1.

So Which Camera? | Sans Mirror — mirrorless, interchangeable lens cameras / Thom Hogan - sansmirror | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

We had a spurt of high-end mirrorless cameras in the last year: Fujifilm X-T1, Olympus E-M1, Panasonic GH4, Sony A7s/A7/A7r. To those, some might add the Nikon V3 and the Sony A6000. The quick operative question is this: which one do you pick?

Controlling a Fuji X-T1 with the Fujifilm Camera Remote WIFi APP / tom grill - About Photography

Controlling a Fuji X-T1 with the Fujifilm Camera Remote WIFi APP / tom grill - About Photography | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

We wanted to do a straight down lifestyle photo of a group of friends eating together at a table. This called for the camera to be located directly overhead and centered on the table, which meant there was no way for me to operate it directly or to even look in the viewfinder or LCD. I didn't want to do an elaborate setup because we had many other scenes to do that day and I didn't want to waste any time. I immediately chose the Fuji X-T1 because its light weight made it very easy to suspend over the table with a simple pole cat setup. Additionally, the Fujifilm Camera Remote APP for wireless control of the camera is one of the best I have seen. I have it on my cell phone and on my tablet, and use it for situations just like this..

What's Your #1 Photographic Wish? Mine? A Fujifilm X-T1 with a Sony 24mp APS-C Sensor / The Wandering Lensman | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

What is the thing at the top of your photographic "wish list" that you would like to have or see created and sold?  My number one wish is for Fujifilm to put a Sony 24mp APS-C sensor in the X-T1, or its successor, as an option to the X-Trans sensor.

Why I chose Fuji to Making a living from photography / Paul Schlemmer - inmybag

Why I chose Fuji to Making a living from photography / Paul Schlemmer - inmybag | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

I jumped into this crazy rollercoaster ride of “making a living by photography” three years ago when I was 18 and I still am, as Zack Arias once told me, “you’re as green as a grass” in this wonderful craft.

At core I would describe myself a  portrait photographer although lately I like the idea of being just “a photographer”- I feel like it gives me more freedom to have a fresh perspective on things while I’m still searching for my own style.

Fuji XT1 and off camera flash / mark baigent

So how does my Canon flash work with the Fuji XT1, not well sadly. Firstly there is no ETTL auto flash and the maximum shutter speed that I can use with the flash off camera and on stands triggered by the ST-e2 is 1/60th of a second.

Fujinon 10 – 24 mm ja 16 – 135 mm zoomit kokeilussa / Matti Sulanto | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Fujifilm täydensi hyvää objektiivivalikoimaansa parilla zoomilla. Superlaajakulmazoom Fujinon XF 10 – 24 mm f/4 R OIS tuli jo keväällä ja ensimmäinen sääsuojattu zoom, Fujinon XF 18 – 135 mm f/3.5 – 5.6 R LM OIS WR, on juuri saapunut kauppoihin.

hpc's insight:

Fujifilm complemented the range of a couple of good lens zoom. Super wide-angle zoom Fujinon XF 10-24 mm f / 4 R OIS came back in the spring and the first weather sealed zoom Fujinon XF 18 - 135 mm f/3.5 - 5.6 R LM OIS WR, has just arrived in stores.

Getting the Layers Right in Street Photography / Vineet Vohra - 121Clicks

Getting the Layers Right in Street Photography / Vineet Vohra - 121Clicks | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

After shooting with the Fujifilm XT-1 for about a month now, I can easily say that it has given me the magical powers of invisibility. It’s so compact and the shutter is as quiet as the drop of a feather. As a street photographer, being invisible and getting camouflaged within the surroundings is key. When I was carrying a DSLR people would almost always tense up and the moment would get lost.

Annie Hall Photography Personal Blog: Fuji X100/X100S 50mm Equivalent - UPDATE | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
It's been 4 months since I acquired my little DIY 50mm teleconversion lens for the FujiX100S. Honestly, I haven't been using it too much. It is a little clunky at times and because the lens is so large, I have to use the electronic viewfinder all the time, which drains my camera battery much quicker.

Comparing the Fuji X Cameras. Which one is Right For You? / dan bailey

Comparing the Fuji X Cameras. Which one is Right For You? / dan bailey | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

In just a few short years, Fujifilm has built an impressive camera system from the ground up. Starting with the introduction of the X100, which they launched in September 2010, they’ve since expanded their lineup to include a number of highly advanced interchangeable and fixed lens compact cameras that have completely stirred up the photography world.

Shooters of all styles and levels have fallen in love with their compact, classic body styling and with the remarkable image quality that these cameras produce. So much so that an increasing number of amateurs and pros alike have replaced their entire DSLR rigs with Fuji X camera systems and haven’t looked back.

FUJINON XF 18-135mm F3.5/5.6 WR OIS - Reviewed / bokeh monster

FUJINON XF 18-135mm F3.5/5.6 WR OIS - Reviewed / bokeh monster | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Sadly, this review starts on a slightly negative note....

The first weather resistant lens released from FUJIFILM is a canon, when zoomed all the way to 135mm the lens becomes surprisingly front heavy and is sadly a little ugly, no matter which X series camera body it was slapped on (XPRO1, XM1 and XT1). Also, the lens feels and looks very plastic. Unlike the prime lens lineup with all metal exterior shells, this one is made from a smooth engineered plastic, which does come across as a little cheap.

Versatile Fuji X-T1 the first 10,000 photographs/ mark baigent. | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Since exchanging my full frame Canon kit for a Fuji XT1 kit I have made over ten thousand photographs. I now feel comfortable with the camera and very pleased to have made the change.  As a professional I get to shoot a wide range of subjects, which is one of the joys of being a photographer. So how has the Fuji coped with the variety of work? See my conclusions much further down or follow the journey I have taken so far with this camera.
