Fuji X-E2 - Amazing Quality!

Fuji X-E2 - Amazing Quality! | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

I moved to Fuji after a long search for a small light weight camera system after loosing 80% use of both hands and arms.  I went through ALL of the micro 4/3 systems (and even kept 2!).  I sold $40,000 in Canon bodies and L glass and have NEVER looked back!

During the last Pitti Uomo I was contacted by the fashion blogger Sani Starr who needed to take pictures for his blog and website during the famous Florence’s fair. In the two days scheduled for the photos at Pitti Uomo’s fair, Sani wore two different outfits that were perfectly matching with the theme “Pitticolor” of this edition. As for the photos previously proposed, these images were taken trying the Fuji X-T1 and the 35mm f/1.4, used almost always as open as possible.

Tornado X-T1 Tracking Test | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
The passing of the 60163 Tornado also presented me with an opportunity to test the new autofocus tracking software on the Fujifilm X-T1. Setting the camera to wide 'Wide/Tracking', 'AF-C' and the drive to 'CH' (8 frames per second) I was able to capture the following sequence of 22 images using the XF16mm f1.4 lens.

Colin Swift's Portfolio - Blog - A Mirrorless Affair Gone Wrong: A Cautionary Love Story

Colin Swift's Portfolio - Blog - A Mirrorless Affair Gone Wrong: A Cautionary Love Story | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

My mind was constantly running.  Why was I beginning to have thoughts of… other cameras.  I felt horrible about it.  But, the thoughts and google searching wouldn’t stop.  I was losing control, and finally… I turned my back on my Canon.  I didn’t tell my Canon, but I began sneaking around, after being seduced by the beauty, portability, and just sheer fun of the Fujifilm X100T.  Everything was new, it was a first love feeling all over again.  My X100T was so much fun, my X100T would show me so many different things, so many new things.  Built in filters, WIFI connectivity, an aperture ring, an electronic shutter that would go up to 1/32,000th! A built in ND filter, it was a exotic and sinful experience.

The 90mm F2 lens (135mm in 35mm format terms) is the latest portrait warrior from Fujifilm. The optimal focal length for everyone who prefers a slightly more compressed look to their work.  We have always enjoyed the slightly longer focal lengths for their shallower depth of field and tighter field of view

Using Dynamic Tone To Create HDR Like Effects

Using Dynamic Tone To Create HDR Like Effects | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

When you pick up a camera and take a photo sometimes the results can look a bit flat. It doesn't matter what camera you're using this will always be the case to a certain extent. What I mean by that is the scene may lack contrast straight out of camera. The images you see within this article were all taken on the Fujifilm X-T1 and if I was editing these images for a client or to hang on a wall I would definately need to do some contrast adjustments in Adobe Photoshop to bring back some of the detail.

Fujifilm X-T10 review

That’s where this year’s X-T10 comes in. It’s essentially a shrunken down version of the X-T1 that costs less yet preserves a lot of what makes the X-T1 great. The X-T1 was so loved by myself and many other enthusiast (and even some pro) photographers because of its great shooting experience. Like many of Fujifilm’s recent cameras, it rewards you for taking control, manually adjusting settings, pushing its buttons, flipping its switches, and toggling its dials. That kind of control is what makes the process of photography fun, and the X-T1 paid back those that took advantage of its copious buttons and switches with fast performance and excellent image quality.

The Fuji X100T — Tools and Toys

The Fuji X100T — Tools and Toys | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
Photography is inquisitive. A photographer poses questions and offers answers through imagery. The Fuji X100T is the answer to an unpopular question: how does one take better photographs?

Not sharper photographs, not larger photographs, but better photographs — photographs that say something, that mean something, even if only to us.

Comparison: Fujinon 16mm f1.4 v Fujinon 18mm f2

Comparison: Fujinon 16mm f1.4 v Fujinon 18mm f2 | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
The small but perfectly formed Fujinon XF18mm f2R has been the lens I have used the most since I bought it in 2013.  The fast f2 aperture along with the small size and 27mm equivalent angle of view makes the 18mm f2 my 'go to' lens.

However has the new 16mm f1.4 usurped this position?  The slightly wider 24mm equivalent focal length is one that I used to have when I used film cameras and for landscapes it is a great lens to have in the bag.  But how different is the 18mm and 16mm?  Is that 2mm going to make a huge amount of difference?  and will that extra stop on the aperture compensate for the difference in the physical size of the 16mm compared to the 18mm?

During our stay a film crew were working alongside the lake on the next instalment of the brilliant Swallows and Amazons series. It was possible to catch soak up the 1920’s atmosphere in the late evening when filming had ended, this Derwentwater long exposure of the filmset was shot heading back towards Keswick. I was using my trusty Lee filters together with my Fujifilm X100T camera, as well as using the ‘Little Stopper’ I doubled up with an ND6 hard graduated in an attempt to tone down the bright sky.

Some Free Faux Film Lightroom Presets for Fuji X Users

Some Free Faux Film Lightroom Presets for Fuji X Users | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

I've been working on some new premium Lightroom presets, which should be available soon, but while I was experimenting I got sidetracked and ended up creating some Faux Film presets for Fuji X users. I was trying some different techniques and I have saved various "ingredients" which I use to then create whole looks. While playing around with some of these I decided to try combining some of what I was working on, with the fuji picture profiles that come with lightroom. I liked he results so I decided to keep going. The result was a set of film like presets that I think you might like.

These are just some experiments really, and a bit of fun, but I think they give some nice results. I'm giving them away for free, because I think other fuji users out there might like them (and I'm basically too busy to do all the work necessary to make them into a commercial product! ;-) )

Paris Opera House Magic | Karen Hutton | Photographer | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

The place seems to have many names; As Wikipedia explains it: “The Palais Garnier is a 1,979-seat opera house, which was built from 1861 to 1875 for the Paris Opera. It was originally called the Salle des Capucines because of its location on the Boulevard des Capucines in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, but soon became known as the Palais Garnier in recognition of its opulence and its architect, Charles Garnier. The theatre is also often referred to as the Opéra Garnier.” And ummm… also known as: the Opera National de Paris.
