Fuji X-E2 - Amazing Quality!

Fuji X-E2 - Amazing Quality! | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

I moved to Fuji after a long search for a small light weight camera system after loosing 80% use of both hands and arms.  I went through ALL of the micro 4/3 systems (and even kept 2!).  I sold $40,000 in Canon bodies and L glass and have NEVER looked back!

Fuji X-T1 Review :: Yep. It’s A Fuji / ZACKarias dedpxl

Fuji X-T1 Review :: Yep. It’s A Fuji / ZACKarias dedpxl | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

I have now had the Fuji X-T1 since February of this year. I have traveled to Dubai, Morocco, Cuba, and numerous places through the US with the XT and the new 10-24mm f4, 56mm 1.2, and 27mm 2.8 pancake lenses. I’ve shot street, portraits, personal work, and paid work with this camera and these lenses. Fuji sent the camera and lenses to me and then I picked up a second body because these are now my small camera work horses. I no longer own a single piece of DSLR gear. I shoot my PhaseOne on some jobs and I shoot Fuji’s for the rest. I do not foresee going back to DSLR’s any time soon.

About Photography / Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8 macro lens - hands on review

About Photography / Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8 macro lens - hands on review | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

I do a lot of close up and macro photography and have quite a number of macro lenses, mostly Nikon, but also Canon, Sigma and Tamron. I think I can sum up this entire review right here in one sentence by saying that this Zeiss Touit 50mm f/2.8 lens is as good as, if not better than, any macro lens I have ever used on any camera.

Things I wish I would have known- Part 7 / vicsfujixblog | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

I really should have entitled this, “Things I wish I would have done”, but I will get to that in a minute.

I received my first film camera 51 years ago and have had film camera’s off and on since then. It wasn’t until 2010 that I purchased my first digital camera, a Nikon D5000. I wrote about my journey to mirrorless here if you are interested. For the first week I shot on “auto” so I could get to know the camera but my goal from the beginning was to be able to shoot in manual, which I did pretty quickly.

Samyang 12mm f/2 NCS CS review / ALESSIO MICHELINI Musicphotographer.eu | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

I wanted an ultra wide lens since I bought my little Fuji X-E1, the kit lens was a good lens overall, and while for street photography it’s definitely a great lens, for landscapes 18mm (equivalent to a 27mm on a 35mm) are not enough to me, I always felt like it was too long for me. So three weeks ago I decided to sell it in favour of a new ultra wide lens from the Korean manifacturer Samyang (or Rokinon in the States, Walimex somewhere else), the12mm f/2 NCS CS.

I’d heard that Capture One Pro 7 does a better job with Fuji RAW files than Lightroom. I wasn’t keen on complicating my life and adding yet another program to my workflow, but since they had a free 60 day trial version, I decided to give it a test drive.

What’s in the Bag – Italy for a Month

This last May, I was lucky enough to spend my honeymoon in Italy. I couldn’t go on a trip of this scale without some serious photography (luckily my wife already knew this) so I put a lot of thought into what gear I wanted to bring. I’ve been enjoying my Fuji X-T1 lately and, although the last trip I did of this length was with my full-frame Canon gear, this time I wanted to bring a much lighter kit.

Two lens portrait shoot-out -- the Zeiss Touit 50mm macro and Fuji 56mm f/1.4 on the X-T1 / About Photography | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

This is not a contest to see which lens is best. They are both exceptional at what they do, but do have differences that make them suitable for different tasks when shooting portraits. For this very reason, for my Nikon system I keep both the Nikon 85mm f/1.4 and the Nikon 105mm macro lenses for photographing beauty and portraits.

Good grief it’s hot…. I mean really hot. The UK is supposed to be cold and wet! So I went for a very gentle stroll around an aircraft museum in the hope of finding a gentle breeze and perhaps an ice lolly! Epic fail on both counts. Mind you I did have a relaxing time and put my X-E1, XF60mm and XF18-55mm lenses to good use.

Dopo il passaggio Canon-Fuji, ecco la prova sul campo della Fuji per il test dell’AutoFocus e la raffica.

29 scatti in meno di 4 secondi… 20 a fuoco, 7 un pochino morbide, 2 fuori fuoco.

Per me, prova superata!

Macchina in AF-C (AF continuo) e scatto in CH (scatto continuo ad alta velocità).

hpc's insight:

First of all, I have to repeat myself. I do not like zooms! Ever since I take pictures with the x-pro1 and superb Fujinon XF prime lenses, I must conclude that a prime lens just helps me more attention to my subject. And yet I was the Fujinon 24mm XF10- irritated. Why this is so, should not actually be any like myself clear with regard to the initial focal length for landscape photography-interested, right? The further the better!

So I wrote Fujifilm digital in Germany and asked for a test specimen which she also gave me kindly. Unfortunately that is, but also that the XF10-24mm will eventually also leave me. And here I take now before me, which is too bad really!

...Camera shake, or just the camera missing the spot can result in a soft image. I took plenty and this one was pin sharp on his eyes. Capture One Pro has done an excellent job as my digital darkroom. Shooting in RAW gives me the latitude I need in order to produce a few pleasing images. There are always plenty that go straight in the recycle bin. For me photography is a never-ending learning curve. Every camera and lens will have its quirks and every situation brings a new set of challenges…. I hope you enjoyed today’s post.

Latitude Festival - in pictures / David Sillitoe - theguardian | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Latitude in Suffolk has a reputation as a relaxed, family friendly festival, as I found when I dropped in to shoot these photos. Although getting backstage is important, there is still lots you can do without press accreditation. I left the heavy DSLR’s and flashguns at home, preferring the discretion of my favourite Fuji X cameras. So what was in my bag? I carried two Fuji X-Pro1bodies, one Fuji X-E1 body, and three fast lenses, the 14mm f2.8, the 23mm f1.4, and the exceptional 56mm f1.2. The only other essential was plenty of water, as the weather was very hot

How the Fujifilm X-T1 Shocked Me: A Quick Hands-On Overview / slrlounge | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
At first, I was unsure if I liked the design, the button placements or even the smaller size and weight. Pre X-T1, I was a huge fan of the X-Pro, I am still thinking the X-Pro is the right camera for me, but, I was mighty shocked at just how good the X-T1 is.

How to get the Fujinon XF60mm f/2.4 R to 1:1 magnification ratio? / Lichtklicker | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

The Fujinon XF60mm macro lens was one of “starter” lenses introduced with the X-Pro1 early 2012. I guess everyone ever has used this lens was surely happy with the overall picture quality, detail sharpness and the lightweight and excellent build body. But many of these users may also complained about the very slow and noisy autofocus and the limited magnification factor of ‘only’ 1:2. In the meantime the autofocus performance was subsequently improved by firmware updates and is in my opinion on the par with full frame macro lenses with noisy micro motors. What of course could not be changed through firmware is the magnification factor…

The X range of cameras has received a huge amount of critical acclaim and their fair share of criticism too. There are an awful lot of both professional and enthusiast photographers out there making some wonderful images with the Fuji line up, across a wide range of disciplines. One group of photographers that I think the Fuji line up makes particular sense for are wedding photographers.

Beautiful pictures, appealing price. Review of the Fuji X-M1 with skiers in mind.

...

I’ve had the chance to shoot with a couple of these cameras including, most recently, Fuji’s X-M1. It sits a couple steps below the company’s premier mirrorless cameras, like their X-T1, and therefore lacks some important features, like a traditional eye-level viewfinder. But what it lacks in features, it makes up for in image quality.
