Photo Explorations with the new Fujifilm X-E2 Camera

Photo Explorations with the new Fujifilm X-E2 Camera | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

For the last several years, I’ve enjoyed photography using a lot of Canon gear – both the point and shoot PowerShot family as well as Canon’s “prosumer” line of digital SLR’s. My Canon 5D Mark II has served me very well – a great camera body and the Canon lenses are top notch in terms of optical quality. I’ve also experimented a bit with Nikon – acquiring a Nikon D600 DSLR for a trip to Havana earlier this year. Once again, a great camera – and lenses to match. I’m now looking to sell my Canon and Nikon gear – I’ve moved on.

How to use a Leica M Camera with Craig Semetko (Video) | STEVE HUFF PHOTOS

How to use a Leica M Camera with Craig Semetko (Video) | STEVE HUFF PHOTOS | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
Check out this video from the wonderful Craig Semetko on using a Leica M Rangefinder Camera. He makes some great points and shares WHY it is a special thing, shooting with a rangefinder camera. I love my Sony A7II and S but the M is a totally different way of shooting. The video is less than 4 minutes and is well worth the watch, especially if you are not so sure how an RF works.
hpc's insight:

Not directly related to Fuji X, but the part on the view finder is more or less transferable to the fuji X OVF (X100x and XPro1)

The Rebecca Lily Fuji X100s Giveaway

The Rebecca Lily Fuji X100s Giveaway | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
I almost never enter competitions, I just don't think my work is right for them.. BUT how can I resist the chance to win a brand new Fuji X100 or an analog Canon AE-1 camera and the chance to get people like you to know Rebecca Lily and her presets. So here is my entry for the Rebecca Lily Fuji X100s Giveaway!

These two cameras are both on top of my list to get as my next camera aside to my Canon.

The presets are really nice, and while these are made especially for Fuji X cameras they work extremely well with my Canon raw files.

Fuji X Raw editing - How to get the jpeg look

Fuji X Raw editing - How to get the jpeg look | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Ok. Let’s talk about the RAW converters and file processing. I have tried them all! I have ended up using Lightroom. I have used LR for many years as a Nikon shooter, and I really like how easy it is to use the software, and all the great features like making slideshows, prints, books etc. However, there are a couple of things you need to be aware of when you process your X RAW images in LR. In most cases I like to get the final image as close as possible to what I saw on the back of my camera, and Adobe made that possible after adding the film simulations to LR in ver. 5.5.

Gariz Genuine Black Leather XS-CHXT1BK Camera Metal Half Case for Fuji Fujifilm X-T1 - Review | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
I’ve seen several cases for the Fuji cameras, including those designed and sold by Fuji as Fuji products. While most of the cases I looked at are nice in appearance, even the Fuji cases left something to be desired when it comes to function. So I opted for the Gariz.

Some Settings I Found Work for Me on the Fujifilm X-T1 | The Wandering Lensman

Some Settings I Found Work for Me on the Fujifilm X-T1 | The Wandering Lensman | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
One of the determinations I wanted to make with the X-T1 is if, in many cases, a SOOC JPEG would suffice for many of my image uses instead of using only the RAW image format then spending quite a bit of time editing the files.  I had repeatedly read that the JPEGS from the Fujifilm X-cameras are excellent. On the other hand, I've also read that the JPEGs are terrible. What to believe? I wanted to draw my own conclusions, based upon the type of work I do and not just take someone else's word for it.

Fujifilm X100T Review: Now Shooting! - Shooter's Report Part II

Fujifilm X100T Review: Now Shooting! - Shooter's Report Part II | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
I found the Fujifilm X100T to be a fairly good performer overall, with a couple of modest exceptions. Once I had it on and activated, it responded essentially instantly to any control inputs, but it was sometimes just a bit slow to wake from sleep. It’s a small issue, and in my outings with the X100T I didn’t miss any shots because of it, but I think if I owned one, this might rear up and bite me every now and then.

Fujifilm X100T Review: Now Shooting!

Fujifilm X100T Review: Now Shooting! | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
In early 2013, Fujifilm introduced the X100S, a bright-lensed camera nicely aimed at the street photography niche, and a followup to the earlier Fuji X100. Although we appreciated its image quality and a reduction in lens flare exhibited by the earlier camera, we had some reservations due to some quirks, predominantly related to its autofocus, controls and body design.

Fuji X-T1 meets Leica's flagship 50mm Apo-Summicron-M ASPH

Fuji X-T1 meets Leica's flagship 50mm Apo-Summicron-M ASPH | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
In the past week I've been out and about with Leica's flagship M lens, the remarkable 50mm Apo-Summicron. Initial impressions are positive, particularly when it comes to the ergonomics. This lens is perfect: The smooth, silky focus ring features a finger tab, unlike the current non-Apo Summicron, and it is a joy to use. The aperture ring is second to none, precise and secure.

Fujifilm X100T Review: Now Shooting! - Shooting1

Fujifilm X100T Review: Now Shooting! - Shooting1 | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
Within an hour or two of unpacking my first digital camera way back in 1996 (a Nikon Coolpix 100 demo unit), I was already dreaming about a compact fixed-lens digital camera for enthusiast photographers with real, direct exposure and focus controls. Sadly, a combination of bad luck and laziness had prevented me from shooting with any Fujifilm X-series models before now, so I jumped at the opportunity to try out the new X100T and see if my almost two-decade longing could be satisfied.
