Fuji x100s review - Photography Tips & Reviews | Shuttertastic

Fuji x100s review - Photography Tips & Reviews | Shuttertastic | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Today we are reviewing the Fuji x100s a very cool retro style compact camera that packs a punch on the inside.    The x100s also sports a 23mm (35mm equivalent)  f/2 fixed prime lens, the same as the x100. They have made quite a few improvements from its predecessor the Fuji x100, the manual focus is now very responsive and…works! and the auto focus is so much faster and accurate due to the On-sensor phase detection… I know that’s geek talk but believe me it is soooo much better.  They also moved the AF button from left side to the right top button wheel and add a “Q” button that brings up a quick menu that allows you to change common settings quickly without fumbling around in the menu.

How much do I love youWith so much love, I bought this camera twice. I sold it twice. The first time I sold this camera, I thought I was better than that. Then I realised, I wasn’t. It’s the second time I sold it, I’m in love with someone else now. So, this is to tribute my love towards Fujifilm X-Pro1.

The X-T1 surprised me with its amazing viewfinder! I wasn’t used to this view, not with my Canon 5D MKIII nor with the X-Pro1. It really blew me away. The image quality is amazing.

In The Garden

In The Garden | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
... There is a lot of discussion on camera forums regarding the way the X Trans sensor renders leafs if the RAW images are processed in Lightroom or about that Fuji is cheating with the ISO values and that their ISO 4.000 is ISO 3.200 on other cameras. I would not say it is all rubbish but Lightroom has improved its RAW converter for Fuji files and even if Fuji cheats a little by overstating the ISO value it is still impressive and there is no APS-C sensor camera that I know that offers better high ISO performance than Fuji. And I’m not talking about noise only. The impressive thing is that the color saturation stays high at very high ISO settings....

September Ends ~ Fuji X-E1

September Ends ~ Fuji X-E1 | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

The Four Seasons Project begins to draw to a close, and with it September has its final flourish of colour.  I’ve noticed that this year the vast majority of the trees have a leaf blight that’s preventing the usual splendid golden hues from developing through into October.  Instead, the leaves are attacked by an ugly spore that is more prevalent this year than last.  I did find one small tree in Ruth’s garden that is largely unaffected and I took advantage of the morning sun to bring you the image above.

I developed the leaf shots extensively in Capture One Pro, using a heavy vignette, clarity and contrast to ‘paint’ the effect I wanted.  All in all, I was happy with the results.

4th Edition - What X-Series Camera Should I Buy? | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
With Fujifilm releasing three new X Series cameras; the X-T1 Graphite Silver, X100T and X30, I thought it would be a great opportunity to update the 'What X-Series Camera Should I Buy' article I wrote previously.

Hopefully in this guide I can offer some insight to your questions. I will also link to a few articles around the net to help offer some insight into these new cameras. I don't intend this guide to be a full spec write up, instead I would like to offer you a 'real world' user opinion

So, I went out with Tanya so she could shop for her family. I had my Harley Denim Jacket on cause Fall is here and I’m not falling for that Fall stuff. When you leave it’s nice and warm and when ya have to head back, well… it’s cool. I’m too old to Fall for that stuff I tell ya, I’m too smaat. Andre’ said he wanted to go along just to get out of the house and I quickly agree.

Ohhh sorry, Andre’ is my Fuji X100s. He said he was tired of being in the house cause I was taking Ding, the Nikon Coolpix A everywhere. So I put Andre’ in the Harley jacket inner pocket and he’s happy cause he’s riding a Harley.

Opinion: Bring on the 70-200mm equivalents: Digital Photography Review

One swallow does not a summer make said Aristotle, suggesting the dangers of looking for trends based on single examples. Even with this in mind, I'm pleased to see two manufacturers introduce 70-200mm equivalent zooms for APS-C cameras at this year's Photokina. First Fujifilm introduced its XF 50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR, and then Samsung followed suit with its 50-150mm F2.8 S. This can only be a good thing, since I'd argue they make more sense for many photographers than actual 70-200mm lenses do on APS-C.

Saturday Walk ~ Fuji X-E1 & Capture One - SurroundingLIGHT photography

Saturday Walk ~ Fuji X-E1 & Capture One - SurroundingLIGHT photography | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
Some photographers travel the world to get inspirational images that capture the imagination and inspire us all.  Until the day I’m employed to do the same, I guess I’ll travel to my local town, do some shopping, and snatch a few images as I go about my business.  Today may have been a case of wandering over familiar ground, but a quiet, or a busy mind, can affect how and what you see.  The few images I have today came a little easier than normal; there seemed to be a flow, and I wasn’t about to argue with the fact that things just happened.  After all, I have plenty of time to ponder over why some photography days come far easier than others.

REVIEW: Converting the X100 - Adding a TCL-X100 to the Perfect Travel Camera

Earlier this year Fujifilm announced that they had developed a tele conversion lens for the X100 / X100S that would turn the Fujinon 23mm f2 lens into a 33mm (50mm equivalent) by multiplying the focal length by 1.4x.

Fuji X100T, 3e du nom et définitivement mythique!

Fuji X100T, 3e du nom et définitivement mythique! | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it

Shooting Birds in Flight with the Fujifilm X-T1

Shooting Birds in Flight with the Fujifilm X-T1 | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
Recently I was out-of-town staying on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. I was out in the morning with my Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujinon XF55-200 lens but there wasn’t much happening as it was early. As a result I was walking back to the house when I heard some commotion on the beach. I had seen the flock of Canadian Geese and Seagulls on the beach but they were just resting, most of them on one leg. A few minutes later they began making noise. As I walked on the pier to overlook the beach I did three things. I enlarged my autofocus box two clicks as I was on the smallest size. I set the front dial to “C” as I was anticipating taking some pics of the geese taking off from the beach and flying over the pier. I also set my frames from “S” to “CH” as I wanted to get a nice series of pics as they flew over. There are a couple of lessons here.

As i mentioned in my last post, i shot some photos in RAW today.  I don’t do it very often because i really don’t like sitting down in front of the computer for that long.

However, with the X-Pro1, you don’t have to sit in front of the computer.  You can convert your RAW files in-camera.

I started shooting street after I sold my overly complex DSLR gear and went for a compact Fujifilm camera. I was surprised how easy it was to get close to people without them noticing that I was taking pictures. So I started to play around in the streets.

Glass Bubbles

Glass Bubbles | Fujifilm X Serie APS C sensor cameras | Scoop.it
During our recent trip to the Outer Hebrides we stopped at an art gallery near to the beach at Luskentyre for a browse and a cup of tea to escape the rain that had blown in off the Atlantic.

We did buy a couple of items that were coloured a vivid blue, just like the sea just outside the window.  One of the items we bought were a pair of glass coasters, which were blown full of air bubbles.  This made a fantastic object for a still life I set up in my office, shooting the coaster with the LED video light behind to highlight the textures and colours in the glass.
