Fuji to Announce An Upgraded X-T1b As Soon As This Month? | Slr Lounge | Fuji X-Pro1 | Scoop.it

As I talked about in my initial thoughts on the Fuji X-T1, this has been one of the most popular camera releases of 2014. It has been just 5 months since the camera was announced, but now rumors have cropped up that Fuji may be gearing up to release a new – hardware upgraded – version of the X-T1, and it could be announced as soon as this month .....

Fujifilm Reportedly Working on a Super-Fast 16mm f1.4 Wide-Angle X-Mount Lens | The Phoblographer

Fujifilm Reportedly Working on a Super-Fast 16mm f1.4 Wide-Angle X-Mount Lens | The Phoblographer | Fuji X-Pro1 | Scoop.it

Besides the great X-Trans CMOS sensor, there’s another good reason to go for Fujifilm’s X-system: the lenses. Not only has Fujifilm created a respectable amount of lenses covering all focal lengths from wide-angle to telephoto in a rather short amount of time, they also created some of the best optics currently available for any mirrorless system, including the 14mm f2.8, the 23mm f1.4, the 35mm f1.4 and the recent 56mm f1.2. Soon, users of the system could be in for some more treats. According to Fuji Rumors, the company could soon introduce a super-fast 16mm f1.4 wide-angle lens for its X-system, translating to a 24mm-equivalent. Fujifilm’s lens roadmap indicates that in 2014 a “high speed wide angle lens” would be introduced, and this could just be it. In addition to the 16mm f1.4, Fuju Rumors’ sources also claim that the X-system might see the addition of a 140-400mm super telephoto lens, for those who need that extra bit of reach. On the system’s APS-C sized sensors, this lens would translate to a 210-600mm, which should be sufficient for both sports and wildlife photography. Thanks to built-in optical image stabilization, it should be possible to achieve shake-free images with the lens even at its longest setting.......

Fuji X PRO2 to be announced soon? | Fuji Rumors

Fuji X PRO2 to be announced soon? | Fuji Rumors | Fuji X-Pro1 | Scoop.it

Current Fuji X PRO 1 owners know well the strengths but also the quirks of the camera. And those quirks are a major problem as it seems that they can be fixed by hardware changes only. So “rumors” about a possible new X PRO 2 model are getting bigger. We heard it will be announced within the next 2-3 weeks. The camera will feature a new sensor too. We heard it will be priced above the current X PRO 1. But it has to be really good to convince me to spend more than you have to do for the X PRO1

I am in the frame for the XP1 with a 35mm (50) lens and will purchase the 23mm (35mm) when it comes out next year. I will sell my mint 5dMKII and L series lenses to make this purchase as at 69 y.o.a I want to downsize and get back to a RF style camera. Already the cost of the XP1 is more than any sane person should spend on a crop sensor camera, so a dearer XP2 will only be affordable by Leica M types. If the upgrade is to sort out the current model issues I would want it over the XP1. It's a stretch at the current price, so this would be a deal breaker for me and I would stick with what I have already got and work with that. I think Fuji could be overestimating the desire for this camera when it comes to pricing.

My chat with the Fuji Rep | Chris Bennett

My chat with the Fuji Rep | Chris Bennett | Fuji X-Pro1 | Scoop.it

As I have already blogged about, this week is London Camera Exchange’s Photo Weekwhereby each day they will have different suppliers and offers in both of their stores each day. They will have representation form various suppliers over the week and today was Fuji at their Lincoln High Street store. I went in on the off chance of getting a good offer but unfortunately funds are rather tight at the moment and unless I was given a phenomenally amazing offer I wasn’t likely to purchase anything. They were offering free Fuji protection filters for all lenses and LCE were slightly flexible with the price too. My second reason for visiting was to have a chat with the Fuji rep to see what he was allowed to tell me and what he wasn’t. As he works for Fuji I wasn’t expecting a whole lot of information as there will be many things he couldn’t tell me. So what did I find out? ........
