Review | 20 Countries with Fujifilm X-Series Cameras | Elia Locardi

Review | 20 Countries with Fujifilm X-Series Cameras | Elia Locardi | Fuji X Series Cameras | Scoop.it

Since May of 2013, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Fujifilm X-Series Cameras and XF lenses, and during that time I’ve managed to shoot with them in more than 20 different countries, spanning nearly every possible photography condition. In the process, I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting many Fujifilm shooters from around the world and what I’ve discovered is that people love their Fujifilm cameras and, like me, they’re excited to talk about them. There have been quite a few times, where I was completely immersed in a sea of tripods, riddled with shooters toting every type of camera brand known to man. People with Canons, Nikons, Pentax, and Hasselblads, all sizing each other’s gear up—in typical photographer fashion—while never exchanging a word. Fujifilm shooters on the other hand, just seem to smile at each other, as if they have a shared secret that no one else knows. It’s the strangest thing, but even during photo walks, Fujifilm shooters seem to congregate; proud to be carrying their cameras and excited to talk about their favorite lenses and what is to come. There’s a sense of community and shared love for these cameras that I find absolutely delightful.......

Fujifilm Reportedly Working on a Super-Fast 16mm f1.4 Wide-Angle X-Mount Lens | The Phoblographer

Fujifilm Reportedly Working on a Super-Fast 16mm f1.4 Wide-Angle X-Mount Lens | The Phoblographer | Fuji X Series Cameras | Scoop.it

Besides the great X-Trans CMOS sensor, there’s another good reason to go for Fujifilm’s X-system: the lenses. Not only has Fujifilm created a respectable amount of lenses covering all focal lengths from wide-angle to telephoto in a rather short amount of time, they also created some of the best optics currently available for any mirrorless system, including the 14mm f2.8, the 23mm f1.4, the 35mm f1.4 and the recent 56mm f1.2. Soon, users of the system could be in for some more treats. According to Fuji Rumors, the company could soon introduce a super-fast 16mm f1.4 wide-angle lens for its X-system, translating to a 24mm-equivalent. Fujifilm’s lens roadmap indicates that in 2014 a “high speed wide angle lens” would be introduced, and this could just be it. In addition to the 16mm f1.4, Fuju Rumors’ sources also claim that the X-system might see the addition of a 140-400mm super telephoto lens, for those who need that extra bit of reach. On the system’s APS-C sized sensors, this lens would translate to a 210-600mm, which should be sufficient for both sports and wildlife photography. Thanks to built-in optical image stabilization, it should be possible to achieve shake-free images with the lens even at its longest setting.......

Controlling a Fuji X-T1 with the Fujifilm Camera Remote WIFi APP | Tom Grill

Controlling a Fuji X-T1 with the Fujifilm Camera Remote WIFi APP | Tom Grill | Fuji X Series Cameras | Scoop.it

We wanted to do a straight down lifestyle photo of a group of friends eating together at a table. This called for the camera to be located directly overhead and centered on the table, which meant there was no way for me to operate it directly or to even look in the viewfinder or LCD. I didn't want to do an elaborate setup because we had many other scenes to do that day and I didn't want to waste any time. I immediately chose the Fuji X-T1 because its light weight made it very easy to suspend over the table with a simple pole cat setup. Additionally, the Fujifilm Camera Remote APP for wireless control of the camera is one of the best I have seen. I have it on my cell phone and on my tablet, and use it for situations just like this......

Fujifilm Gets It and Sony Doesn't | The Online Photographer

Fujifilm Gets It and Sony Doesn't | The Online Photographer | Fuji X Series Cameras | Scoop.it

All things considered, is there a more desirable lens line on the planet right now than Fuji XF? In fact, mid-2014 also seems to be smack-dab in the middle of Fujifilm's moment. It's just on one great big roll right now. Everything coming up sevens. In just a few years, Fuji has created a coherent, consistent line of all-new lenses that essentially have it all when you consider all the factors that impinge on desirability—size, weight, performance, handling, specs, and consumer cost. Expensive but attainable, fast but not too big, sensational image quality—nothing clearly beats it for general non-specialist photography even now, and users have faith that the vaporware on the lens roadmap will show up when Fuji says it will. The company's track record has been excellent. All that is priceless.......

After over a week of use, a couple thousand frames, and well over 5,000

my most comprehensive review to date and I think one of the more
comprehensive reviews to hit the web so far.
