"Apple US App Store has selected two photographic apps, Instagram and Snapseed, as its Apps of the Year for iPhone and iPad. The choices, which appear to be region-dependent, are part of its 'Rewind 2011' annual roundup.The free image processing and sharing App has been selected as iPhone App of the year, while more detailed processing suite Snapseed ($4.99/£2.99/€3.99) was awarded the title for iPad Apps.
