Alfons Schuhbeck – Wikipedia

Alfons Schuhbeck (* 2. Mai 1949 als Alfons Karg in Traunstein) ist ein deutscher Koch, Kochbuch-Autor, Gastwirt, Fernsehkoch und Unternehmer.

Schuhbeck wuchs im oberbayerischen Chiemgau auf und begann zunächst eine Ausbildung als Fernmeldetechniker. Als er mit seiner Rockband Die Scalas[1] im bayerischen Ferienort Waging am See unweit von Salzburg Station machte, stieß er auf den Gastwirt Sebastian Schuhbeck, der ihn davon überzeugte, eine Ausbildung zum Koch zu machen. Schuhbeck adoptierte Alfons,[2] beschäftigte ihn in seinem Lokal und setzte ihn als Erben ein. Nach dem Besuch der Hotelfachschule Bad Reichenhall arbeitete Alfons Schuhbeck in Salzburg, Genf, Paris, London und München (u.a. bei Feinkost Käfer, Dallmayr und im Restaurant Aubergine von Eckart Witzigmann).

1980 übernahm Alfons Schuhbeck das Kurhausstüberl in Waging. Bald wurde er zur treibenden Kraft im Schuhbeck’schen Betrieb und überzeugte die Gäste mit seiner Kochkunst. Das „Kurhausstüberl“ wurde zum Geheimtipp für die Münchner und Salzburger Prominenz und avancierte vom Dorfgasthaus zu einem Spitzenrestaurant. Schuhbeck erwarb sich den Ruf eines „Prominentenkochs“, bei dem Politiker, Fernsehstars und Führungskräfte ein- und ausgingen.

Alfons Schuhbeck - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alfons Schuhbeck born on May 2, 1949 in Traunstein, Upper Bavaria, Germany is one of Germany’s top chefs, as well as being a restaurateur, celebrity chef, author and businessman.

Born Alfons Karg, he trained as a telecommunications technician, but soon became disenchanted with this profession. While playing with his band in the Bavarian holiday resort of Waging am See, he ran into the restaurateur Sebastian Schuhbeck. This man committed Alfons in a career in the hospitality business and became his mentor. Sebastian Schubeck later adopted Alfons and made him his heir.[1]

He studied at the College of Hotel Management Bad Reichenhall in Bavaria. After that he went through practical training in Salzburg, Geneva, Paris, London and Munich (in Eckart Witzigmanns three stars awarded Aubergine). He finally took the Kurhausstüberl from his mentor in 1980.

Johann Lafer (* 27. September 1957 in St. Stefan im Rosental, Steiermark) ist ein österreichischer Koch, Unternehmer und Sachbuchautor. Er lebt mit seiner Frau und zwei Kindern in Guldental.

Johann Lafer wurde durch seine Kochsendungen wie Himmel un Erd, Genießen auf gut deutsch und seine zahlreichen Kochbücher einem breiten Publikum bekannt. Diese Sendungen werden in Lafers eigenem TV-Studio aufgezeichnet und von ihm selbst produziert und im ZDF, auf 3sat und in mehreren Landesprogrammen der ARD ausgestrahlt. Aktuell lehrt Lafer als Dozent an der Hochschule Fulda im Fachbereich Ökotrophologie.

Seine Ausbildung absolvierte er Mitte der 1970er Jahre im Restaurant Gösser-Bräu in Graz. Sein erstes Engagement in Deutschland führte ihn 1977 ins Berliner Hotel Schweizer Hof. Ab 1979 war er in Josef Viehhausers Restaurant Le Canard in Hamburg beschäftigt. Seine Backkünste bewies er als Chef-Pâtissier im Hotel Schweizer Stuben in Wertheim.
