This year, I'm sadly parting from my 2003 (!) Dynastar Legend 8000 that have proven unbelievable skis with exceptionnal longevity. While they were still decent in powder (in spite of their roughly estimated 400 days out), it was no longer possible to even finish a run on dense groomed snow: they just had become too soft.
After having been recommended Black Crows by a guide I skied with over the last Christmas break (Fred Buttard in Val d'Isere - a great guide), I tried several alternatives including the Black Crow Orb but the Camox are such a pleasure to turn and ride that this was a no-brainer.
Fresh powder beckoned 16 expert skiers and snowboarders into the backcountry. Then the snow gave way.
