Creating Students That Solve Problems

Creating Students That Solve Problems | Resources for Teachers | Scoop.it
The next time you are in a lesson, ask yourself how many questions you are asked that don’t really need to be asked.

If the answer is too many, you are not alone. I often hear teachers complaining of the lack of initiative in their classes, having to explain simple common sense things, like where to write answers, should we start now, should we answer all of the questions, what do we do next? etc. etc. etc. I believe that such lack of initiative is indeed a modern phenomenon, a disease cultivated early in a world of standardized curricula and testing.

Laptop or Tablet? Transitioning from laptops to iPads and the frustrations of using Google Classroom
Tracee Orman's insight:

We recently switched from laptops to iPads. The transition has been a little rocky, with Google Apps for Education (GAFE) working for about half our students at the beginning of the year. It's getting better, but many of the students still struggle with the transition. Do you use GAFE? Have you had problems? What kind of technology do you prefer to use in the classroom? What are your favorite apps? Please share!
