I'm glad that MS stepped up to the plate and did something for XP users as well. But don't take it for granted that they will do so in the future. If you are running XP, and have the ability to change, now is the time. In most cases, I've found that home and SMB users who are using XP are on machines that are at least 6 years old. There have been so many incremental changes in security during this time that can't be compensated for with the latest anti-virus/malware tools.
