10 Charts Comparing Popular Ed Tech Tools

10 Charts Comparing Popular Ed Tech Tools | iDEAS | Scoop.it

"Over the last six weeks of 2014 I published a series of charts comparing popular ed tech tools. Judging by the number of visits to those posts, the charts were popular. Someone asked me this week if I had put them all together in one place. I hadn't until now. In this Google Drive folder you will find ten charts comparing popular ed tech tools."

Beth Dichter's curator insight, January 27, 9:27 PM

Richard Byrne has created 1o charts that provide options for popular ed tech tools. Having published these on his blog within a series of posts, he has not gathered them  into one Google Drive folder. You will find charts that cover the following tools (quoted from his post):

  • Alternatives to Google Image Search
  • Backchannel and informal assessment tools
  • Building classroom websites
  • Building classroom blogs
  • Creating multimedia textbooks
  • Creating multimedia quizzes
  • Audio editing tools
  • Multimedia timeline tools
  • Mind-mapping tools
  • Mobile video creation apps

This is a great resource. Quickly find four or more options to explore. If you want additional information on the tools do a quick search on his blog to find more detailed reviews.

Beth Dichter's curator insight, February 21, 2014 10:32 PM

ThingLink continues to add new features for educators, and one new item is the ability to create a ThingLink Channel (and you can also  create a class and have your students create ThingLink). Check out this interactive album that provides access to some posts from the ThingLink blog...and if you have not yet created a ThingLink account you might want to head over to ThingLink (http://www.thinglink.com/) and create an account.

Kimberly House's curator insight, February 22, 2014 6:28 AM

Love ThingLink and now it's even better for teachers and classes! Teachers can see all their students' work in one place. Teachers can add student accounts. I'm interested to see how it works on the iPad and am hopeful that these features are transferred to the app as well. ThinkLink is a great product and I'm pleased to see it getting better and more useful for education.

Dyslexia for Teachers of EFL

Dyslexia for Teachers of EFL | iDEAS | Scoop.it

Foreign language teachers often lack sufficient understanding of the nature of dyslexia and the difficulties it causes in foreign language learning and are not familiar with the relevant teaching techniques and methods to further the language learning processes of dyslexic students. Therefore the preparation of teacher training materials for this target group of language learners is both timely and highly needed.

Weebly - Create a free website and a free blog | iDEAS | Scoop.it
Create a free website or blog in minutes by using a simple drag and drop interface. No ads. One of Time's 50 best websites of the year.
Charlotte Assomo's insight:

I've scooped this before but I'm about to start a new project with it so it's a reminder. Best thing for me about Weebly is the ability for students to work on multiple PCs on the same website at the same time. Perfect for group and team work as they really need to co-ordinate with each other to make it work.

Un outil permettant de réaliser assez rapidement et de façon très simple des transcriptions. Je ne sais pas si c'est limité en durée / poids, mais aussi bien l'audio que la vidéo semble fonctionner. Génial quoi !
