During the 1920’s there were several social and economic changes shaping the world. Henry Ford, Established the Ford Motor Company in 1903. During his Establishment, he made one of the most famous cars of his time the Model T & affordable car for everyday people. With the economy booming, more & more affordable goods became available to the public. Good that could benefit a everyday house hold, items such as washing machine’s, radio’s, iron’s and vacuum. In 1926 the government introduced numbered highways, it led to a sprawling of cites and expansion of the suburban. Americans then began to go on vacation and Sunday drives. Finally, for entertainment people began going to silent movies; Radio’s & phonographs had an increase. Sports became popular & people like Babe Ruth became a hero. I believe all the social & economic changes benefitted the 1920’s. These changes changed the world by giving us music, entertainment & affordability in items for the lower class. At the end, these changes were good for the world today & helped shape are future for a better tomorrow.
With major changes, changing the world in the 1920’s life became easier and less people following such strict religious beliefs. In 1914 workers wages went from $2.35 to $5 a day, also giving then Saturday & Sunday off. Their Hours also went from 9 to 8 hours, giving them more leisure time. Sounds merged blues, rags time and other popular music in the south & Midwest. Created by African American such as Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith and Duke Ellington. Then African American began becoming Novelist, Poets and Artists expressing African American experiences. They also began writing books about the Joy & Pain of being African American. Authors like Zora Neale Hurston who wrote, “ Their eyes were watching god”. Finally, Woman began rejecting their traditional roles& their style challenged traditional ideas about woman. They became knows as flappers, Woman who wore short skirt, hair cropped in and rough red cheeks. If the world hadn’t had change we wouldn’t be able to look back on these famous writer, poets & musicians. Are world would still be this religious based world, if people didn’t take a risk in music, writing & creating cars. In conclusion the changes have impacted Americans & there daily live in a positive way.
