To many in competitive sales, switching to straight salary is blasphemy. But with pricing and policies readily available online, some see commissions as an impediment.
Juan Hernandez's insight:

Now in these modern times in which people can easily gather information in minutes it makes the buying process for the customer alot easier and no haggeling from a sales associate to gain a sale. Basically techonology helps provide the right product or service for the customer without needing much or any assistance at all. Sales commissions usually only allows the individual to focus on themselves and not the betterment of the company, which is very important in order to strive in any business. It does show negative behaviors, such as short term outcomes and encouraging unproductive compeition among sales representatives. Even companies that pay commissions can face costly turnovers as sales associates focus on lucracative offers. It makes sense why more companies are transitioning into straight salary instead because it allows for steady income and helps focus the attention more on the customer than the sale.
