This sounds like the pipe line is just about Kentucky….It isn't This pipe line is called something different in each state it passes through making it seem less of a national issue. It will go from the North East to the Gulf……it will be yet another line of highly, highly toxic materials running through many backyards, farm lands and close by some of our purist water streams as well. We have our eyes on Keystone pipes….but they are not the only risky pipes being pushed

The Proposed Bluegrass Pipeline: A Bad Deal for Kentucky

The Proposed Bluegrass Pipeline: A Bad Deal for Kentucky | GMOs & FOOD, WATER & SOIL MATTERS | Scoop.it
An informational website about the proposed Bluegrass Pipeline, which would carry natural gas liquids from Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania to the Gulf of Mexico.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

While all eyes are focused on the Keystone Pipe line other huge dangerous lines are moving into place unnoticed on a national level!

Pleas spread the word fast and help..

Request From a long time friend in Kentucky:

Dear Friends,
I don't post things often, but this is VERY important to Steve and me.

Would you please make a phone call on Monday January 6, 2014 to the Kentucky Legislative Hotline and say that you are OPPOSED to the proposed Bluegrass Pipeline. (Be sure you say Bluegrass pipeline). The Kentucky Legislators meet on Tuesday, January 7,2014, and that is why the call needs to be made on Monday.

This pipeline would contain natural gas liquids (toxic) , and be under an enormous amount of pressure. The proposed pipeline could come through our land and close to our home. It is a nightmare!

The phone number is:

1-800-372-7181

We could use your help!

THANK YOU!

OpEdNews Article: How science is telling us all to revolt

OpEdNews Article: How science is telling us all to revolt | GMOs & FOOD, WATER & SOIL MATTERS | Scoop.it
one dynamic offers hope--resistance--movements of people who adopt a certain set of dynamics that does not fit within the capitalist culture.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Excerpt:

Standing at the front of the conference room, the geophysicist from the University of California, San Diego, walked the crowd through the advanced computer model he was using to answer that question. He talked about system boundaries, perturbations, dissipation, attractors, bifurcations and a whole bunch of other stuff largely incomprehensible to those of us uninitiated in complex systems theory. But the bottom line was clear enough: global capitalism has made the depletion of resources so rapid, convenient and barrier-free that "earth-human systems" are becoming dangerously unstable in response. When pressed by a journalist for a clear answer on the "are we f**ked" question, Werner set the jargon aside and replied, "More or less."

There was one dynamic in the model, however, that offered some hope. Werner termed it "resistance" -- movements of "people or groups of people" who "adopt a certain set of dynamics that does not fit within the capitalist culture." According to the abstract for his presentation, this includes "environmental direct action, resistance taken from outside the dominant culture, as in protests, blockades and sabotage by indigenous peoples, workers, anarchists and other activist groups."

How Eating At Home Can Save Your Life

How Eating At Home Can Save Your Life | GMOs & FOOD, WATER & SOIL MATTERS | Scoop.it
The family dinner has been hijacked by the food industry. The transformations of the American home and meal did not happen by accident.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Excerpt:

That we need nutritionists and doctors to teach us how to eat is a sad reflection of the state of society. These are things our grandparents knew without thinking twice about them. What foods to eat, how to prepare them, and an understanding of why you should share them in family and community have been embedded in cultural traditions since the dawn of human society.

One hundred years ago all we ate was local, organic food; grass-fed, real, whole food. There were no fast-food restaurants, there was no junk food, there was no frozen food -- there was just what your mother or grandmother made. Most meals were eaten at home. In the modern age that tradition, that knowledge, is being lost.

USDA reopens comment period for genetically modified apple

WASHINGTON, Dec. 31, 2013 - A new year, a new chance for the public to comment on the controversial genetically engineered Arctic Apple.
Monica S Mcfeeters's insight:

Here is our chance to weigh in on GM apples. Don't miss your chance. I had nearly stopped eating apples before I realized that even the traditional chemicals on conventional apples caused me trouble when I ate them...like always an itchy mouth...but I stopped  eating apples without someone close by the day I had an itchy mouth then couldn't breath for a while. I have hardly any reaction to organic and now eat apples again. GM will mean no apples if they are not clearly identified. I already need to know what the conventional ones have on them and think all this stuff should be identified.
