Via Becky Roehrs
Linda Kaiser, PhD's insight:

This goes along with the need for in depth learner analysis.  If we know our learners - likes, dislikes, hopes, fears, goals - we can achieve empathy much better.

Technology is moving the digital textbook from print look-alike to next-generation learning platform.
Linda Kaiser, PhD's insight:

While Pearson may have begun offering electronic versions of textbooks, there is still much work to be done so that e-books become more readily available in higher education.  There are still some large hurdles to overcome with regard to accessibility and access to a wide variety of electronic materials, especially for online courses. Many publishers simply aren't prepared (or willing) to make the transition. However, this is the future of educational materials and all publishers need to climb on board or be left behind.
