Engaging Audiences with Live Twitter Feeds - Endless Entertainment

Engaging Audiences with Live Twitter Feeds - Endless Entertainment | Focus on Green Meetings & Digital Innovation | Scoop.it

Social media is your gateway to untapped marketing potential. Its effectiveness, though, is dependent on how well you use it for generating a long-term rapport in your B2B or B2C interactions. The power of a 140-character tweet should not be underestimated and should be leveraged during a live event or seminar. Studies show that social media users are 71% more likely to purchase a product from a brand they’re connected with.

Incorporating a live Twitter feed for your next conference or trade show is a great way to keep the interaction with your guests flowing. The last thing you want is for your guests to become disengaged by tending to personal matters on their phone or leaving early. Learn the top strategies for using a Twitter wall to keep the attendees’ attention.

Revealed: Top ten #meeting tech trends for 2015 | Focus on Green Meetings & Digital Innovation | Scoop.it

Read Revealed: Top ten meeting tech trends for 2015 and the latest events news, destinations & venues on C&IT - Conference & Incentive Travel.

1. Millennials expect free wi-fi

The IACC research showed that Generation Y is more fluent in technology than generations before, and is also ‘addicted’ to social media. They have high expectations of connectivity and interactivity, and expect to be able to influence and engage in the conference dialogue. They also expect wi-fi to be free and fast.

2. Socialising rather than networking

Socialising is now seen as relationship-building and conference venues have started to encourage relaxed socialising by providing multi-use spaces for conferees to gather together.

The Conference Manifesto

The Conference Manifesto | Focus on Green Meetings & Digital Innovation | Scoop.it
The time has come to ask: If this is what the humanities have become, should they continue to exist?

We have sat patiently and politely through talks read line by line in a monotone voice by a speaker who doesn’t look up once, wondering why we couldn’t have read the paper ourselves in advance with a much greater level of absorption.

We have tried to ignore the lack of a thesis or even one interesting sentence in a 20-minute talk.

Our jaws have hung in disbelief as a speaker tries to squeeze a 30-minute talk into a 20-minute slot by reading too fast to be understood.

We have been one of two attendees at a panel.

We have suffered in silence while someone, for the duration of their talk, simply lists the appearances of a certain theme in a novel.

Our faces have twitched as our colleagues pretend they’ve understood a speaker’s academese..."

The Power of (Good) Data !

The Power of (Good) Data ! | Focus on Green Meetings & Digital Innovation | Scoop.it
How you measure up? What data do you collect, track, monitor? What do you use? Why do you use it and how do you respond?

I love how good business intelligence, fed by strong data, allows me to present meaningful information that can help an organization move in the right direction. I learned the discipline working for a Starwood property, then applied it at Maritz Travel in the meeting environment. At one point, I was leading a team of about 10 business analysts, and, as data nerds, we decided to create a Top 10 List of Data Management Tips. (I doubt very much David Letterman has covered this one.) We created this list in the context of strategic meetings management programs, but these rules can be applied to other environments.

“If you want to get journalists out to your event, food and drink is always nice,” says Paul Cullum, a longtime reporter who’s worked for the L.A. Weekly, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and The Meeting Professional, among other outlets. “A nice venue is a plus. Celebrities are catnip for everybody, but most of all those tasked with writing about them.”

Enit, commissario senza poteri e stipendio. Il finto rilancio del turismo | Focus on Green Meetings & Digital Innovation | Scoop.it

The Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2015 features the latest iteration of the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI). The TTCI measures “the set of factors and policies that enable the sustainable development of the Travel & Tourism (T&T) sector, which in turn, contributes to the development and competitiveness of a country.” Published biennially, the TTCI benchmarks the T&T competitiveness of 141 economies. It comprises four subindexes, 14 pillars, and 90 individual indicators

Under the theme “Growing through shocks”, the Report discusses why the T&T sector has proved resilient to several different unsettling forces and manage to grow globally and generally more quickly than the economy as a whole.
