7 Reasons You Should Not Use Social Media For Business - OMI Blog

7 Reasons You Should Not Use Social Media For Business - OMI Blog | Fly to Freedom | Scoop.it
Everyone is talking about social media as the silver bullet for marketing - but here's why it might be a waste of time and money for your business.

Like anything else you do, your costs and benefits need to be compared. Maybe its for you, maybe is isn't. But you won't know unless you test. HOWEVER, do not ignore all the features to LinkedIn.

Mike Hasenauer's curator insight, May 15, 2015 2:56 PM

Pretty much any business, restaurant, or any type of company you can think of has some sort of social media component whether it is a Facebook, Twitter, or website. So are these new forms of “free” advertising and social media sites actually helping your company as much as you think? Each business has its own target audience and while most people are on the Internet, there is a still percentage who are not and of those who do have the Internet, about a quarter percentage do not have social media. For me, I believe that this article does make a few points, but it doesn't hurt for a company to have its own social media outlet, even if it doesn’t help your business. Still, the majority of your audience will have Internet access and social media and to give them the option to look you up online is a lot better than not having that option. I may be bias due to the fact that I am hoping to find a job in PR and social media, so yes I do believe it is very important for businesses to have a social media account.
