16 Learning Strategies Promoting Grit & Delayed Gratification In Students

16 Learning Strategies Promoting Grit & Delayed Gratification In Students | Flipped Classroom | Scoop.it

"In psychology, intelligence is not the primary predictor of success. It is the ability to persevere in hardship, persist and learn after failure, and have a resilient spirit in the face of obstacles. Intelligence is a gift that can be developed and nurtured, but continuing on a difficult path when the gratification is far away? That is an invaluable skill for all of us to learn."

Neil Patel: "Whether you like or hate Google Plus, you have no choice but to leverage it. Why? Because Google owns it!

As the most popular site in the world, Google can really help boost your revenue. Having the top rankings can mean the difference between being in business and being out of business".

You know... I REALLY have a hard time feeling friendly toward Google.  Or YouTube, for that matter.  They're both arrogant as the day is long.  I mean, where else would any sane person do business with somebody where you couldn't even talk directly to a manger...let alone the 'owner'.

They get all pissy and and toss people off of their platforms with virtually zero recourse at all while at the same time giving the government any and all information they want while ALSO taking our information and using it either (a) for their own purposes and/or (b) against us.

That's good service?

I recall hearing that Google+ is changing into another animal now that the original founder has departed.  That's the way these guys do it.  They're digital 'pushers'.... get you hooked and then raise the price.

Lectures Didn't Work in 1350—and They Still Don't Work Today

Lectures Didn't Work in 1350—and They Still Don't Work Today | Flipped Classroom | Scoop.it
It’s all about engagement. I’ve heard things like a child’s attention span, in minutes, is equal to their age in years. That’s so not true. If children are engaged in something, they’ll spend hours on it. We have a 6-year-old grandchild who will spend hours working on Legos or Tinkertoys because she’s got something in her mind that she wants to build, and she’ll do it. If children aren’t paying attention, it’s not because of a decreased attention span—it’s because they aren’t given tasks that honor their dominant ways of learning.
