Making transformation happen: analysis and design | Onlignment

Making transformation happen: analysis and design | Onlignment | Educación flexible y abierta | Scoop.it

In this series of posts I’ve set out a vision and strategies for transformation in workplace learning and development. I showed how this process must be clearly aligned to an organisation’s learning requirements, the characteristics of its people and the constraints which govern its decision making. These factors inform and shape our transformation process starting, as I explained in my previous post, with the overall learning architecture and the creation of a supportive infrastructure.

CHERI Higher Education and Society: A 2010 research report

CHERI Higher Education and Society: A 2010 research report | Educación flexible y abierta | Scoop.it

Does higher education make a difference and to whom? The article by Brennan and David poses the question in terms of student learning, drawing on a major recent national study of students and exploring the effects of the growing diversities of students, their learning experiences and the outcomes of those experiences. The article by Arthur and Little poses the question in terms of graduates, using a recent European study to highlight the rather distinctive features of the entry of UK graduates into the labour market. The article by Cochrane and Williams draws on a recent national study to look at the regional impact of higher education, especially upon the more socially disadvantaged groups in society. The article by Kim and Locke takes a rather different tack, using a recent international study of academics to raise questions of how the functioning – and ultimately the impact – of higher education may be affected by the growing amount of international mobility among the academic profession. The four empirically based articles are complemented by two more analytic pieces by King and by
Singh which seek to locate higher education research in features of globalisation in general and in the global agendas of higher education’s policy makers in particular.

"But, let’s be clear what this means: thousands of students across the world taking the same course, with the same content, from the same instructor. And that is the problem. MOOC’s are now at the forefront of the McDonaldization of higher education."

The revolution starts within | Harold Jarche | Educación flexible y abierta | Scoop.it

Do you work in an organization that is slow to adapt? Do you feel constrained by inept IT and HR policies? Are there deep impenetrable departmental silos within a non-collaborative culture? Is innovation and change painfully slow? If you answered yes to any of these, what can you really do from the inside?

eLearning Guild Research: What Are the Benefits of Social Learning? by Patti Shank : Learning Solutions Magazine | Educación flexible y abierta | Scoop.it

Many people think social learning is new. You know … you have a question and post it on Twitter and someone posts an answer. Or you have a discussion in one of your grad classes using a discussion forum. There are two issues with this way of thinking. The first one, as Ben Betts explains so humorously at the beginning of the new Guild research report, Social Learning: Answers to Eight Crucial Questions:

Aurora Correa Beltrán's comment, October 9, 2012 8:34 AM
