Is there an inverse relation between the use of learning management systems (LMS) and social media in education? There does seem to be a certain conflict since they represent two very different types of learning environment for students. The LMS offers a secure all-inclusive enclosed arena with all services under one roof whereas social media offer a diverse, uncontrolled and highly personalised arena that the school/university has little influence over. The two would seem to be incompatible.

Smartphones, tablettes, ces nouveaux appareils ont véritablement bousculé nos habitudes, nos exigences et la façon dont on utilise notre temps. Dans la suite logique de ces tendances « tout à la liberté » et « tout à la mobilité », la formation doit elle aussi embrasser ces nouvelles attitudes et les technologies s’adapter pour mieux y répondre. Ce livre blanc Mobile Learning vous donne les pistes de réflexion sur ces sujets.

Sérendipité, la veille des grandes découvertes

La sérendipité veut qu’à chaque instant, nous soyons capables de rencontrer l’inattendu qui changera notre vie. Les idées jaillissent souvent sans qu’on ne les ait véritablement cherchées ; c’est une simple question perdue dans un coin de notre tête qui revient alors, appelée par une expérience nouvelle…

La sérendipité est donc cette forme de veille que vous n’avez jamais eu le courage de commencer ou que vous aviez arrêtée après avoir si longtemps cherché, et qui après vous être résigné, la veille est restée dans un coin de votre esprit en tâche secondaire, prenant une toute petite place dans votre tête. Un espace suffisamment petit pour qu’on en arrive à l’oublier jusqu’à ce qu’elle jaillisse rappelée par une expérience ou un événement qui fera le grand déclic et peut-être une belle trouvaille !
