Julie Lindsay's insight:

I was in an online real-time Student Summit this week with Gretel, the teacher from Nepal, and her students, along with a class from China. It was exciting to hear from the students themselves the challenges they faced while completing the A Week in the Life project (for Gr 3-5). It was also exciting to have 2 different time zones in the same summit - with a global audience.

E-Learning Journeys: Flat and Connected Learning: A Recipe for Success

E-Learning Journeys: Flat and Connected Learning: A Recipe for Success | Flat Classroom | Scoop.it
'Flat' or 'Connected' learning is the use of technology to virtually eliminate the walls of the classroom. The walls are 'flattened' through bringing the world into the classroom and opening the classroom, opening the learning to the world. This can happen teacher to student, student to student, student to teacher and include expert advisors, sounding boards, and opportunities to learn from and with anyone. This is bigger than 'flipped' or 'blended' learning. 'Flat' is the superset learning objective, the others are subsets of this whole.

Connection, Citizenship and Collaboration - the three essential ingredients to flatten the classroom!
