It is very easy for people on a fitness journey to be blind-sided by a healthy looking meal or foods that come with a healthy tag on them. This is especially so when you are consuming foods that have a seemingly specific benefit. For example, protein is beneficial to muscle builders, so they grab a protein bar. Nothing wrong with that right? Well, that depends on what else is in the protein bar. If it contains things other than protein that are bad for you, then there really is something wrong with that bar, and you should choose a different source of protein that doesn't contain that bad stuff.
High levels of sugar do nothing good for your fitness aims, so you should take care not to consume them when they come attached to foods that you could easily class as healthy. I'm a big believer in taking great care with everything that goes through your mouth because diet plays a greater role than exercise when it comes to fitness. Also, it is more difficult to get rid of the bad stuff once they've been consumed, so it is only sensible not to consume them in the first place.
Here are some foods that you may be surprised to find have very high amounts of sugar, even though they can be easily taken as healthy foods. I'm hoping this will inspire you to take a closer look to that healthy meal before you get it down you.
