Nokia N950 Could Revive Finnish Giant's Fortunes

It is also the second Nokia phone to be coming with the MeeGo operating system. This is seen as the future of Nokia and the Nokia N950 builds upon it. The Nokia N950 is all set to be launched, albeit without the launch date as of yet, but one expects it to be done very shortly.

Visiting US Vice President Joe Biden has met with President Tarja Halonen. Later on Tuesday he meets with Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi on Tuesday.
Biden is on a two-day visit to Finland after which he travels on to Russia.
Discussions on US-EU are on the agenda as well as global economic matters.

US heads of state have rarely visited Finland. The last president to do so was Bill Clinton in 1997, while the last vice president who came to Finland was Dan Quayle in 1992.

A unique cancer tumour treatment centre using neutrons sourced from a nuclear reactor to target cancers is operating in Otaniemi, Espoo. The centre administers a new type of BNCT treatment (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy) that has proved efficacious particularly with recurring cancers around the head and neck areas. This treatment is only available in Finland.

Turisas, a group of melodic folk metal rockers from the city of Hämeenlinna in southern Finland have reached the number four spot on the British rock music chart. Only Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin and Linkin Park prevent them from topping the chart.

Currently on tour in the United States, Turisas has received praise for their album Stand Up and Fight.

The band will perform in Britain at the end of this month followed by two gigs in Finland in April.

Turisas is currently at number five on the Finnish album list.

Over ten per cent of jobs in the corporate sector disappear annually, according to the report, but new positions open up to replace them at the same rate. This development has continued for some 40 years, excluding the 1990s depression years.

EVA explained that this 'creative destruction' is necessary in order for innovation and technological development to become production growth. Due to this, employers should be encourages to think about creating new positions, rather than protecting current jobs.
