Finnish regional daily Keskisuomalainen on Saturday quoted Abu Suleiman al-Nasser, an al-Qaida blogger, as saying that the terrorist group hailed two petrol bombings in Helsinki over the weekend.

The Finnish police had said on Friday that what was believed to be an explosive device had been found in Pasila Friday morning.

And in the early hours of the following day, a petrol bomb was thrown into a filling station forecourt in Tapaninvainio.

No one was hurt in either incident.

The Helsinki police force and the Security Police (Supo) said they were investigating the two bombings..

Earlier last week al-Nasser called for attacks against Finnish troops serving in Afghanistan.

Police: Pasila bomb not linked to terrorism | Finland | Scoop.it
Helsinki Police say that there is nothing to suggest that the bomb found – but not detonated – in the Helsinki suburb of Pasila last Friday had anything to do with terrorism. Police have found no connection between the bomb in Pasila and a petrol bomb thrown into a service yard in the Tapaninvaino area of the city.
