Expertise counts in management positions, not gender | Finland |
There is lively debate in Europe right now on equality in management. The proportion of women in business management positions in many European countries is clearly lower than the proportion for men. On the EU level, the proportion of women on the boards of major listed companies is just 10 percent.

By comparison, the situation in Finland is better than in many other EU countries. Finland and Sweden hold the top two positions according to a survey by the European Commission. Women in these Nordic countries represent around 26 percent of board membership of the largest listed companies.

In Finland the proportion of women on the boards of listed companies has more than doubled in the past ten years.
