Glass Igloo in Kakslauttanen Hotel in Finland | Finland | Scoop.it
When you hear about Finland you think of Santa Claus home and Aurora Borealis. Of course there are a million other things to see there, but these two are the most famous ones. Read a review of Hotel Kamp, Helsinki

Hotel Kamp, located in the heart of Pohjoisesplanadi, opened its doors in November, 1887. Named after its founder, the celebrated restraunteur Carl Kamp, the luxury hotel is one of the most valued historical buildings in central Helsinki, close to all major cultural sites. It is amid neo-classical architecture, designer shops and verdant parks, and is within a few minutes walk of the harbour. After a faithful and extensive restoration, the hotel was re-opened in May, 1999.

Thieves Targeting Hotel Guests

Professional thieves have been targeting guests in Helsinki hotels. A number of hotel residents have their bags and other property stolen while having their breakfast. Over the weekend, the thieves struck at three different hotels.
The suspects are thought to be two foreign men between 30-40 years of age, although there may be more taking part in the thefts.
Typically, the thieves divert their victims' attention by spilling food on them, then grab bags and valuables and make a hasty departure.
According to police, it is very difficult to prevent the thefts, as the perpetrators blend in with hotel clientele.
