Finnish regional daily Keskisuomalainen on Saturday quoted Abu Suleiman al-Nasser, an al-Qaida blogger, as saying that the terrorist group hailed two petrol bombings in Helsinki over the weekend.

The Finnish police had said on Friday that what was believed to be an explosive device had been found in Pasila Friday morning.

And in the early hours of the following day, a petrol bomb was thrown into a filling station forecourt in Tapaninvainio.

The Finnish Security Intelligence Service (Supo) believes that there is no need for a reevaluation of the danger of terrorist attack in Finland or against Finns in Afghanistan. Supo does not consider the latest call by an al-Qaida leader for attacks on Finnish troops as a new development.
"We are taking this seriously and cooperating closely with the Defense Forces, but is not exceptional. Similar threats have been made before," Supo's chief of communications, Liina Lehto-Seljavaara, told YLE.

Police Tight-Lipped on Extremist Link to Helsinki Explosives Offences | Finland | Scoop.it
A group describing itself as a supporter of worldwide Islamic jihad has praised on an internet discussion forum two bomb scares that occurred in Helsinki this past weekend.
On Friday morning, police cordoned off an area in the Pasila district after a home-made device was discovered. Early Saturday, a petrol bomb was thrown into the yard of an unmanned service station in the Tapaninvainio area of the city.
The group said online that it hoped fresh attacks would succeed.
The Finnish Security Police (SUPO) says it is taking the matter seriously but does not wish to speculate at this stage.
