Wake up, Finland! | Finland | Scoop.it
Sweden has recovered from the recession, with the employment rate jumping back up and the national debt shrinking, while Finns have spent the same time debating without any results.

”The trend has been extremely similar and favourable. Finland’s economic pothole was deeper after the crisis of 2008, which was partly due to the structure of production. For example, the importance of Nokia for the Finnish national economy was easy to detect in 2009. For this reason, Sweden has also recovered a little faster from the recession. Moreover, there is not any distinct difference even in short-term prospects”, says Sixten Korkman, the Managing Director of the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy (ETLA).
