People are starting to think negatively about the fifa world cup because of the transport workers having a strike of a low pay.The metro stations were out of action because of the massive cost of venues and the infrastructure built for the world cup. One of the flag ship project a monorail collapsed in south part which killed one construction worker.

Rather than feeling happy about the 2014 fifa world cup, people are stating corruption, high taxes and degenerate infrastructure because they were spending 11.5 billion dollars for the world cup tournament. The people are not trying to host the tournament.

The main message from this article is that Brazil cannot afford money for the world cup.  The 32 nation tournament on Thursday will cost Brazil 6.92 billion pounds in investments in stadiums, airports, urban transport and other infrastructure improvement. People in Brazil said rather than spending money for the fifa world cup instead the money should have been spend on improvements such as public services in health, Education and Transport.

Facing discontent over her government’s preparations for the World Cup, President Dilma Rousseff defended the funding of new stadiums and said Brazilians planning to shun the event were a “small minority.”

Ms. Rousseff who is the president of Brazil said that to rebuilt Cuba’s economy required the application of “more market forces, not less.”Brazil’s victory over Italy in the championship match, which took place in Mexico City. Ms. Rousseff supported loans from state banks for new stadiums for the soccer tournament and insisted that Brazilians planning to shun the event were a “small minority.”
