Shannon Hutcheson's insight:

Very similar situation happened to me too. In my case, my doctor was fed up with Ontario health care. She packed up and moved to Calgary, AB. I felt so abandoned and betrayed.

I have only just found another doctor who was willing to work with me and my chronic pain. But I was left hanging with NO one who gave a damn about me for nearly 4 years.

The loss of this Vancouver doctor, who specialized in chronic illness, a severe loss for the community. Especially with so many hopeful patients waiting to see her.

Excerpt: Someone sits in a chair with a coil pressed against the side of their head.  Aside from odd tapping sounds they feel nothing.  Sometimes they fall asleep.  After about 30 minutes,  they get up and resume their day; their pain much diminished. No drugs are needed.  Could this be the future of pain relief in fibromyalgia?

Excerpt: Scheduling regular rest periods into your day is one way to reduce the possibility of overdoing things just because you aren’t paying attention to how you feel. Rest periods can also head off those “sneaky” flares that happen because you felt just fine while you were doing whatever it was, but your body decides a day or two later that it was too much.

A New Drug Could End Chronic Pain Forever

A New Drug Could End Chronic Pain Forever | Fibromyalgia Canada | Scoop.it
Treating pain is a tricky business—especially when it comes to the chronic, perpetually debilitating type.
Shannon Hutcheson's insight:

Scary! Total pain relief from all pain has obviously scary potentials. Some pain you need to know about, be aware of. How else will you be able to tell if you need to care for a bleeding cut or some kind of internal trauma? Pain is necissary for obvious reasons.
