Kendrick Lamar also says he is "trying to murder" Big K.R.I.T., Pusha, T, A$AP Rocky, Jay Electronica, Tyler, the Creator and Mac Miller on Big Sean's "Control." Lamar also crowns himself "the king of New York" and "king of the Coast" on the track.

Jermaine Johnson's curator insight, September 10, 2013 11:29 PM

I really like what Kendrick is doing here. He alone brought back the competivie side of hip hop back but without the violence. The thing about Kendrick doing this is that a lot of people recognize Kendrick as one of the best rappers out right now currently in his prime.

Pros: Bring back the competiton in Hip-Hop a lot of people have already responded to Kendrick "Control" verse.

Cons: It can end his career if he cant keep up witht he hype and pressure of the talent that's going to be coming after him. Like how MCs feel from grace before such as Ja Rule to 50 and T.I and Lil Flip.

Malik Parker's curator insight, December 11, 2013 1:27 PM

The young artist made sure everyone knew his name after he shoked the industry with his verse on Big Seans "Control". It is a new hit single by Big Sean Ft. Kendrick Lamar, and Jay Electronica. On this track Kendrick called out the top rappers in the game by name. What he did was bring real Hip-Hop back. In my opinion this is exactly what the industry needed, rappers in this era started to get comfortable and lost their hunger. Leave it to Mr.Lamar to give them a wake up call.

Marcellus Gail's curator insight, January 19, 2014 9:25 PM

Slightly new rapper (Kendrick Lamar) is calling people out on song with him, Big Sean, and Jay Electronica. He uses verbal assault to make the world feel what he is feeling and it works. After the song was dropped, the raido went nuts.
