If we want to avoid repeating past mistakes, we must acknowledge that even the brightest people can do monumentally daft things
Mike Spencer's insight:

Fascinating ruminations on stupidity and how we make decisions.

Think I'm a little too research and choose and could benefit from some system 1 myself, but then perhaps that's not a wise idea...

Mike Spencer's insight:

The UK’s Government website was named design of the year – the first time a website has taken this spot. Check it out here: www.gov.uk

It has a lot to do with consumer-centric design, which comes from fusing strategy with design. Here are some great links that outline:

Their digital strategy: http://publications.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/digital/

Their approach to iterative consumer-centric design: https://www.gov.uk/service-manual/start

Mike Spencer's insight:

Singularity University, the X PRIZE Foundation and Deloitte Consulting recently launched a new four-day executive education program: The Innovation Partnership Program (IPP).

The immersive 3 year partnership program prepares senior executives, from global corporations and Fortune 500 companies like Google, Shell, Qualcomm, and Hershey, to take their companies from “linear” to “exponential” by creating a culture of explosive innovation.

The first meeting took place last week consisting of a wide array of workshops on crowd-sourcing the rapid advancement of exponential technologies and how to innovate through incentivized competitions. The program includes a biannual summit, with the next one scheduled for September 18-‐22, 2013 in Silicon Valley.
