UBER DRIVERS SPEAK OUT: We're Making A Lot Less Money Than Uber Is Telling People

UBER DRIVERS SPEAK OUT: We're Making A Lot Less Money Than Uber Is Telling People | Fashion Technology Designers & Startups | Scoop.it
The drivers we spoke with say they're making anywhere from $5 an hour to $20 an hour, meaning that in a year's time, if they're working 40-hour weeks, they could be making anywhere between $10,000 to $41,000
Bonnie Sandy's insight:

@uber @Etsy @homejoy..   Is it time to look at Living compensation in the tech startup community esecially  with platforms for freelancers - My challenge in accepting these  new startups is my belief that a solid plan , should address the challenges in the equation rather than shift it and ignore it!   too many platforms miss teh opportunity to cust  cost  for the very people they  depend on especially in teh supply chain issues! Bargaining  for bulk rates for gas, insurance and supplies  for it's drivers,  would make being a UBER driver something to desire fo rexample...  better yet  using huge investments to subsize some overheads could be just effective as heavy  marketing fees many are paying!  Or  just maybe it's time for trade unions and guilds in the tech scene!

Your ultimate guide to New York Fashion Week.

Millennials are fueling new tech-native brands like Nasty Gal and Brit retailer Asos. But millennials also practice fauxsumerism — the art of looking, enjoying and interacting with merchandise without making a purchase, according to research by Noise/The Intelligence Group, a market research firm. But as they get older — and richer — millennials will be expected to have spent $2.5 trillion total and to represent 75 percent of the work force by 2025, the same research showed.
