An initial Obamacare skeptic, Arkansas resident Butch Matthews changed his mind once realizing the options available to him under the health law.
Todd Fertig's insight:
After 14 month bipartisan debate, the landmark ACA law was passed. Then it faced a challenge which went all the way to, and was dismissed by, the Supreme Court. Then we had another Presidential election with Romney running on a "Repeal ACA" platform. He lost in landslide by 5M votes. Still faced recalcitrant Governors who dug their heels in. And a congress which has held the nations solvency, economy, and millions of citizens hostage with a government shutdown.
We clearly see that the ACA is not only the morally right thing to do, but the financially prudent thing to do. Even died-in-the-wool republicans are getting relief - and expressing their love for the ACA.
Why do a small handful of zealots get to hold the country hostage - based on a position that is not supported by The People?
