Jordan Cameron bounces back big, posts top notch fantasy stats | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
The Browns tight end got back on the fantasy map in a big way in Week 14. We break down the fantasy implications.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Jordan Cameron is back and I really hope he's here to stay. After catching 9 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown, Cameron is benefiting from having a QB with talent. Oops, did I just say that?

LeSean McCoy dashes through snow to record as Eagles drop Lions

LeSean McCoy dashes through snow to record as Eagles drop Lions | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
LeSean McCoy rushed for 217 yards to spark the Eagles to a 34-20 victory and eclipse a Steve Van Buren record that had stood since 1949.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

LeSean McCoy didn't let the snow slow him down in the fourth quarter as he broke a record held since 1949 (205 yards). McCoy rushed for 217 yards in the late win over the Lions and brought in 33 points to put me in the fantasy championship game. Well done Shady.

Gould taken on emotional roller-coaster ride

Gould taken on emotional roller-coaster ride | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
MINNEAPOLIS — Adam Podlesh first saw Robbie Gould on Sunday at 8 a.m. at the Radisson Plaza Hotel.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Robbie Gould became a father in the early hours on Sunday, flew to Minneapolis for the game and missed a 47-yd field goal to win the game in overtime. Gould also missed practice on Friday because of the flu. Definitely an emotional roller-coaster of a weekend. Now please nobody poop in his shoes... (I'm looking at you Cade Foster's teammates.)

Jordan Cameron puts up another dud performance for fantasy owners in Week 12

Jordan Cameron puts up another dud performance for fantasy owners in Week 12 | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
Jordan Cameron caught three passes for 32 yards in Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. We take a look at the fantasy implications.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

A dud performance is exactly what Cameron's been giving fantasy owners the past few weeks. He was targeted ten times yesterday and only caught three passes. What happened to the greatness that he was showing early this season?

Larry Fitzgerald becomes youngest to gain 11,000 receiving yards

Larry Fitzgerald becomes youngest to gain 11,000 receiving yards | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
With a second-quarter catch against the Colts, Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald became the youngest player in NFL history to gain 11,000 yards receiving in regular-season play, the club said.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Larry Fitz is finally back. And he reached a milestone as the Cardinals beat the Colts. Interesting that they called a timeout after and Fitz asked for the ball to save as a keepsake. Most athletes have no idea what play they reach a number like this one so they just keep playing, but maybe they're just acting like it?

Chicago Bears: Robbie Gould nails 11th game-winning field goal

Chicago Bears: Robbie Gould nails 11th game-winning field goal | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
Robbie Gould's teammates mobbed him after his 38-yard field goal in overtime snuck over the right upright to give the Bears a 23-20 win over the Ravens. It was no an ordinary game-winner. The...
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Robbie Gould has hit 11 game-winning field goals, include six in overtime. And he hit the last game-winner in overtime last night after an almost two-hour weather delay against the Ravens. The field was almost unrecognizable and he could've easily fallen flat on his face... (Or at least I would've.) I would call that clutch.

Secret is out: Panthers' defense is crazy good

Secret is out: Panthers' defense is crazy good | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
Get the latest NFL news, video updates, scores, schedules, standings and more on Sporting News.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

The Panthers have been depending on QB Cam Newton to bring them wins the past few seasons, but this season it's the Panthers' defense that's really shining. After picking them up a couple weeks in, it was clearly a good move as they have the second best scoring defense in the league (behind the Chiefs) and are tied for third in interceptions getting me plenty of points every week.

Darren Sproles Injury: Pierre Thomas a Must-Add for Fantasy Owners

Darren Sproles Injury: Pierre Thomas a Must-Add for Fantasy Owners | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles suffered an injury early in the team's game against the New York Jets. If this turns out to be a serious...
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

During the draft, I was in a rush and picked up Pierre Thomas. I then did a google search and the first article was titled something like "Whatever you do, DON'T DRAFT THOMAS"... Whoops. Well I did. And even with Sproles back in action and scoring a TD, Thomas scored two and gave me 22 points. And that is why you go with your gut!

Jordan Cameron kept quiet with invisible fantasy performance

Jordan Cameron kept quiet with invisible fantasy performance | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

I was going to blame new starter Campbell on not targeting Cameron during this game, but after catching one of the five passes to come your way, that's on you Cameron. Hopefully they'll find a happy medium and get their tandem going next week so Cameron can score more than 0 points.

LeSean McCoy on Eagles losses: It starts with me

LeSean McCoy on Eagles losses: It starts with me | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
While it's unclear whether or not the holes are there for McCoy, it's safe to say the results haven't been.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

McCoy has been struggling lately and the team's losses are piling up. He says the losses are his fault and he needs to get them back to winning. Even offensive lineman Evan Mathis agreed that it's on [McCoy] and says "Shady" is the type of guy to fix it. After saying Moreno sucks, McCoy better get it together.

Kenny Stills gifts fantasy owners with two touchdowns | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
The Saints rookie had a huge game Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Stills was one of those players my brother made fun of me for drafting and I kept him on my bench. After scoring two TDs of 69 and 42 yards, I'm dissapointed in myself. I hear ya Kenny! You're back on my team.

Falcons WR Julio Jones resting well after surgery | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas made it a point this week to check up on wide receiver Julio Jones, who had foot surgery on Monday.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Falcon's receiver Harry Douglas has stepped into a leadership role following Jones' injury and says Jones' spirits are up and is resting well after his surgery last Monday. I don't have the heart to drop him from my team yet...

Jason Campbell gives Cleveland Browns reason to hope despite another tortured Sunday -- Bud Shaw

Jason Campbell gives Cleveland Browns reason to hope despite another tortured Sunday -- Bud Shaw | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
The Browns found enough offense with Jason Campbell at quarterback to upset the New England Patriots Sunday. They also found another cruel way to lose.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

In Fantasy Land, it doesn't matter if your respective teammates actually win their games, you just need the points. Despite losing a heartbreaker to the Patriots, Campbell has proven to me he deserves the start in the championship game ahead of lackluster Joe Flacco.

Team Vernon's curator insight, December 12, 2013 1:04 PM

With the playoffs underway, Campbell has been a hidden gym for teams. His performance as a backup QB is stellar, as he threw four touchdown passes against the Patriots Sunday. His top receiving target is Josh Gordon, who has set an NFL record for yards in three consecutive games.

He's been a pleasant suprise for fantasy owners this season.

Flacco: Tomlin hampered Jones on purpose

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco accused Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin of intentionally interfering to stop Jacoby Jones from scoring on a kickoff return in the Ravens' 22-20 win Thursday night.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Although Jacoby Jones wasn't too upset about the insanity of Mike Tomlin stepping near the field on the return, Flacco is pissed saying Tomlin did this on purpose and he should've been charged with unsportsmanlike conduct. Flacco should know since last Superbowl he joked with teammates about tackling Ted Ginn Jr. from the sidelines. Tomlin is reportedly going to be charged six figures for the misconduct.

Victoria Baldwin's insight:

I don't care so much about the 13 points Fitz got me this week as I do about this article. Fitz spent his Thursday night serving Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless and from this man's account, was extremely gracious and cheerful. After watching the E360 piece on Russell Wilson's wallet yesterday, I hope to see more of these stories heading into the holiday season.

Joe Flacco doesn't love Baltimore Ravens' Wildcat use

Joe Flacco doesn't love Baltimore Ravens' Wildcat use | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
Joe Flacco isn't a big fan of the Baltimore Ravens' recent use of the Wildcat formation. The Super Bowl MVP didn't enjoy being forced to split out wide during a win over the New York Jets.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Flacco is not too happy about the Wildcat formation they used in their past win. Part of me thinks he's just being a bit of a diva especially when he kept his hands in his pouch when he lined up in the WR spots after the snap. Maybe if he showed some initiative on the field and started making plays, they wouldn't have to use the formation...

Larry Fitzgerald's dad seemingly upset with Cardinals' use of son - Cardinals Stories at ArizonaSports.com
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Fitzgerald's pop isn't too happy with what the Cardinals are doing with his son this season. He's off to the worst start in his career since his rookie season in 2004 and the Cardinals have been using him as a blocker on almost half of their plays (or at least last week against the Texans). This week he had 6 receptions for 61 yards and a TD which means things are looking up a bit.

LeSean McCoy steals Redskins fans’ banner

LeSean McCoy steals Redskins fans’ banner | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
It's been a rough welcome to Philly for the Redskins and their fans.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

McCoy is at it again stealing a fan's banner during pregame. If he had a bad game, I'd be annoyed, but he did great to counteract the 29 points my opponent scored with Calvin Johnson with 26 points. Eagles fans also egged the Redskins' bus yesterday as well. Now that's a little childish.

Joe Flacco got paid for this? Pay attention, Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Flacco got paid for this? Pay attention, Cincinnati Bengals | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
The Ravens overpaid quarterback Joe Flacco for $120.6 million. Super Bowl or not, the Bengals face a similar dilemma with Andy Dalton. Both guys displayed the wrong way to handle that issue Sunday in the Ravens' 20-17 overtime victory.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Doyel says it's risky for a team to put all their eggs in one QB basket, which is what the Ravens did with Flacco in the offseason.  He's in the first year of his six-year, $120.6 million contract and $52 million of that is guaranteed. One day you can be a superbowl-winning QB and the next, people are regretting your big pay day because you aren't performing well on the field.

Eagles' LeSean McCoy jokes he tried recruiting Terrell Pryor in college, but Pitt couldn't afford him

Eagles' LeSean McCoy jokes he tried recruiting Terrell Pryor in college, but Pitt couldn't afford him | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
McCoy went on to say he was joking, that he is cool with the Raiders quarterback, and that he respects the path Pryor has taken to get where he is at.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

LeSean McCoy is back on my good side with 44 yds and a TD this week, and he's good at making me laugh to. He told the media that Pitt couldn't afford Terrell Pryor  (talking about the improper benefits he received that got Jim Tressel fired) but then backed him up saying he respects him. So you're saying if he went to Pitt he might have less tattoos?

Jason Campbell brings some happiness to the Factory of Sadness

Jason Campbell brings some happiness to the Factory of Sadness | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
The Browns didn’t make Jason Campbell their first choice as quarterback and they didn’t make him their second choice, but it appears he’ll be their final choice for this season as long as he’s healthy enough to play.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Everyone is loving Campbell in Cleveland after he led them to victory with 3 TDs (and 24 points I might add) to beat the Ravens. The Browns faced my old QB, Flacco, who was sacked five times. Good thing I got rid of him... Keep it up Jason!

Christian Ponder's performance continues hot potato at Vikings' QB

Christian Ponder's performance continues hot potato at Vikings' QB | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
The Minnesota Vikings (1-6) lost 44-31 to the Green Bay Packers (5-2) on Sunday night. Quarterback Christian Ponder did very little to secure starting job in his 30th start.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

I picked up Ponder after Bradford suffered a season-ending injury and wasn't expecting much. I just feel bad for Ponder's niece "Cheeks Magee" who was at the game for her birthday and had to watch that performance. At least he had the start on her birthday! (YouTube her if you want to care as much as I do...)

Victoria Baldwin's insight:

When Sam Bradford went down with an ACL injury and was declared out for the season, I was a little sad since my team is falling apart. But heck, the Rams reached out to Brett Favre to come be their QB. They must really be feeling the pain. Oh, and btw, Favre said "no way in hell"...

Jordan Cameron's 'toughest decision' of his life led him to a career in football with the Cleveland Browns

Jordan Cameron's 'toughest decision' of his life led him to a career in football with the Cleveland Browns | Fantasy Football | Scoop.it
Third-year Browns tight end took a circuitous path to the NFL.
Victoria Baldwin's insight:

Great story how one simple action could change your whole life. If Jordan Cameron didn't get off the couch one day to run routes with his younger QB brother years ago, he wouldn't be playing in the NFL right now. He would've stayed at BYU playing basketball and finishing his two-year Morman mission. But instead, fate brought him back to football where he really belonged.
